MLB DFS Lineup Picks and Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 6/02/15

Below are my MLB DFS lineup picks for Tuesday June 2nd, 2015. Always remember to check the MLB starting lineups, to see who is starting and sitting today, before finalizing your DraftKings lineup!

My goal with these DFS picks, as always, is to try to choose players who will outperform their expectations on DraftKings. These players can be high-cost players, or they can be sleepers, but we are always looking for players that have a chance to return the greatest value. Let’s get to it.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $200,000 in cash prizes, including 20K to 1st place! Sign up Now and we'll give you free access to RotoBaller's Premium DFS Lineup Picks and Tools (a $29.99 value). You'll also receive a 100% bonus on your first deposit.

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

Seattle Mariners RHB vs C.C. Sabathia

The Seattle Mariners right handed batters are just crushing left handed pitching. As right handed batters, the Mariners hold a wRC+ of 165 against lefties, which is far and away the best in the league. This looks like an easy matchup against the struggling C. C. Sabathia, who has been just awful this year. Sabathia holds a 5.67 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP. He has given up 15 hits in his last 8.1 innings. Nelson Cruz looks like an excellent option for Tuesday, and Austin Jackson could be a potential sleeper pick at outfield.

Baltimore Orioles Middle of the Lineup vs Collin McHugh

The sluggers in the middle of the Orioles lineup have a nice matchup against Collin McHugh. Despite McHugh’s early season success, he is still giving up a ton of hits. In his last 8 starts, he has only given up less than three runs twice, and has given up at least 5 hit in all those starts. He is certainly not shutting anyone down, so expect guys like Chris Davis and possibly Adam Jones, if healthy, to be nice options for Tuesday. The Baltimore Orioles hold a top ten offense against right handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 101.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Chris Archer – SP – Rays ($8900)

With the Rays’ pitching staff in shambles, Archer has really stepped up as the new ace of the team. Archer holds an amazing 2.12 ERA with a 0.99 WHIP on the year. Perhaps the best attribute to his value is his amazing strikeout rate, at 10.85 K per nine innings. Archer should be worth his value on DraftKings for Tuesday against the Angels, who hold a bottom ten offense against right handed pitching with a wRC+ of just 88.

Kyle Hendricks – SP – Cubs ($7100)

Kyle Hendricks serves as an excellent sleeper pick for your secondary pitching slot on Tuesday. Hendricks has really performed well as of late, and holds an ERA of 3.76 with a 1.14 WHIP on the year. His recent outings differ from his starts earlier in the season due to his increased strikeout rate. This is good news as Hendricks squares off against the Marlins. The Marlins hold the second worst offense against right handed pitching with a wRC+ of just 81. Look for Hendricks to take advantage of this matchup and continue his great play.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Carlos Santana – C – Indians ($4500)

It is hard not to start Carlos Santana on Tuesday, as he has performed well and has an excellent matchup against a struggling pitcher in Jeremy Guthrie. Santana’s numbers on the year have been underwhelming, but the run and RBI production have certainly been there. Santana has now returned from the paternity list and looks fairly comfortable at the plate. Things should be easy for Santana against Guthrie, who was absolutely shelled in his last outing. Santana is a lifetime 10 for 22 with 2 home runs against Guthrie.

Joey Votto – 1B – Reds ($4700)

First base is loaded with many sluggers, but Joey Votto has been overlooked as a solid value play. Votto actually has very good numbers on the year, holding a .282 average with 9 home runs and 24 RBI. He has also hit consecutive home runs over the weekend. Votto has a nice matchup against struggling righty Sean O’Sullivan, who has shown to be extremely hittable. He has given up at least 5 hits in all his starts this year.

Jason Kipnis – 2B – Indians ($5100)

Jason Kipnis is another must-start Indian against the struggling Jeremy Guthrie. Kipnis has continued to play extremely well and has firmly established an All Star bid. Kipnis now holds a .340 average with 5 home runs and 25 RBI on the year. Expect more of the same from the stud second basemen as he is a lifetime 11 for 22 with 2 home runs against Guthrie.

Nolan Arenado – 3B – Rockies ($5100)

Arenado has continued to hit home runs with ease. He has now hit home runs in three consecutive games and 6 home runs in his last eight games. Arenado now holds a .284 average with 12 home runs and 35 RBI. Arenado’s matchup on DraftKings is also fortunately placed against the newly arrived David Huff in the Rockies/Dodgers double header. In his only appearance of the season, Huff gave up 4 earned runs with 7 hits in 4.0 innings.

Jean Segura – SS – Brewers ($3700)

Jean Segura is an extremely nice value pick for Tuesday’s slate of games. Since returning from injury, Segura has not missed a beat at the plate. He is 8 for 20 since returning, and has a nice matchup against opposing pitcher Lance Lynn. Despite Lynn’s name value, he has been fairly generous in terms of hits and walks given up, leading to a WHIP of 1.35. Segura is also a lifetime 9 for 23 against Lynn.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Billy Burns – OF – Athletics ($3500)

Billy Burns should be used for all daily fantasy lineups as long he is producing the way he is. His incredibly low price tag is only driving up his value as he continues to be overlooked as an excellent option for your secondary or tertiary outfield slot. On the year, Burns holds a .327 average with 2 home runs and 9 stolen bases. He is also 10 for his last 21. Burns is matched up against opposing pitcher Alfredo Simon. As a switch hitter, Burns has hit opposing right handed pitchers extremely well this year.

Delmon Young – OF – Orioles ($3500)

Delmon Young is another dirt cheap outfield option who is currently being undervalued on DraftKings. Young connected on two home runs over the weekend against the Rays, and has been hot at the plate. He is 11 for his last 22, and is a nice sleeper pick against opposing pitcher Collin McHugh in the middle of the Orioles lineup.
