NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – FanDuel Advice for 2/9

All throughout the 2014-15 NBA campaign, RotoBaller will be analyzing the top NBA DFS lineup picks and providing our expert advice for the best sleepers at the guard, forward and center positions. Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for February 9th, 2015.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

John Wall (WAS, PG) - $9,000)

Point guard is absolutely loaded tonight, however, the pick to click is Wall. Sure Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Stephen Curry are all great options, but Wall is the cheapest of this group tonight. Along with that, he has a phenomenal match-up at home (where he is a superior fantasy player) against an Orlando team that is the bottom five against opposing point guards.

Many will shy away from Wall coming off of a disappointing 24.9 fantasy point night but that was in just 26 minutes as the team was handling the Wizards. Prior to Saturday, Wall only had one game under 30 in his past 10 games, while also going over 50 in two of them. Consider him a near lock for 35+ fantasy points tonight which will get him 4x value with the upside for 50.

Paul Millsap (ATL, PF) - $8,000

Much like his actual game, Millsap’s fantasy game is often overlooked because many of this game logs do not jump off the stat sheet like an Anthony Davis, LeBron James or Kevin Durant would. That being said, he is averaging 34.2 fantasy points per game on the year and is an all-around contributor for fantasy.

Over the past eight games Millsap has seven games with at least one block and six games with at least one steal. Although that does not blow you away, when combined with 17.2 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game makes for a solid play each night.

Tonight the Hawks play a brutal Minnesota team that continually gets beat up down low. He may not have a ton of upside for a GPP, but you will not find a better cash game option tonight.

Brook Lopez (BKN, C) - $6,700

Now fully healthy, Lopez has begun to show his past All-Star form. In the last six games Lopez only has one game less than 30 fantasy points while also having a gigantic 60.4 fantasy point night. The biggest reason for his success is that he is on the floor more as evidenced by the fact that the only game in the last six that saw him less than 30 fantasy points was because he only had 28 minutes.

Assuming he is over 30 minutes tonight, Lopez should destroy a frontline that is leaning on a thing John Henson who struggles against physical players. Expect his ownership to be low tonight which could set you apart from the field.

Top Sleepers

Spencer Hawes (LAC, C) - $3,500

By far the most popular play on the board tonight will be Hawes who is filling in for an injured Blake Griffin. In his first start yesterday he posted a solid 17 points, one rebound and one steal night. Those are not great numbers, but that also came without playing much of the fourth quarter as the Clippers were getting beat handily by the Thunder.

For minimum salary you will not find another player locked into 30+ minutes that will be relied on to pick up a lot of slack for Griffin’s absence.

Rasual Butler (WAS, SF) - $3,700)

This pick hinges entirely on the availability of Bradley Beal. If Beal is out then Butler becomes a must-own pick player, as he will inherit a ton of time. Despite not starting last game for Beal, Butler still got 23 minutes and put up 15 points, 2 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Otto Porter is likely to see the starting nod but do not like that deter you from this pick. As we mentioned with Wall, Orlando is a sieve on defense which should mean Butler easily hits 5x value if Beal sits again.
