NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – FanDuel Advice for 2/3

All throughout the 2014-15 NBA campaign, RotoBaller will be analyzing the top NBA DFS lineup picks and providing our expert advice for the best sleepers at the guard, forward and center positions. Below are our favorite FanDuel DFS picks for February 3rd, 2015.

Worth the Investment

D.J. Augustin (DET, PG) - $7,000

Brandon Jennings’s season-ending injury has pretty much extinguished the Detroit Pistons’ playoff hopes. His injury has also meant the decline in production of all but two of his teammates. Augustin is one of the two, and has emerged as the primary point guard for the team.

Stan Van Gundy had initially mentioned after the injury that he may look to add another point guard onto the roster, possibly as a starter or as a heavily used backup. However, Augustin’s play of late has really shown his determination to keep this starting job on the team, much like the way he did last year with the Chicago Bulls. He is hot, and hopefully he keeps the streak going on Tuesday against the Miami Heat.

In the four games since he has taken over the starting job, Augustin has averaged 21.0 points, 8.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals. His eye popping numbers may come back down to earth in the long run, but he may very well provide great production for his still rather cheap price.

 

Greg Monroe (DET, PF) - $8,500

We are double dipping on Detroit today, and Monroe is the other Piston who has remained a solid pick in fantasy since Jennings’s injury. In fact, Monroe's scoring output has received an uptick due to the team’s reliance on him to carry more of the offensive load.

Jennings’s points had to go somewhere, and Monroe has happily taken his share. He has averaged 19.3 points and 12.3 rebounds over the last four games. His value is in his consistency and reliability, which often leads to better games than fantasy darling Andre Drummond.

 

Enes Kanter (UTA, C) - $5,900

Everyone has been bending over backwards for the emergence of young Utah center Rudy Gobert. However, we often ignore the steady production of Kanter.

Kanter relies heavily on matchups. He played well against the Cavs, Bucks, and Clippers, but struggled against the strong inside presence of the Warriors. His matchup on Tuesday against the Trailblazers should be a favorable one. The Blazers give up the third most rebounds to opposing teams per game, and Kanter should feast on put backs and other easy buckets.

In his last six games, Kanter has averaged 17.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Should Utah decide to not rely on Gobert’s shot blocking abilities against a jump shooting team in Portland, Kanter will get more minutes at the center position and be a great value pick.

 

Top Sleeper

Brandon Bass (BOS, PF) - $5,300

Bass has emerged as an intriguing fantasy option in Boston. Just a few weeks ago, it seemed like Bass was out of the loop with an extremely crowded frontcourt in Boston. The likes of Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, Kelly Olynyk and Brandan Wright all competing for shots and minutes left Bass out in the dark. However, with the injury to Olynyk and the departure of Wright, Bass has actually become a solid contributor of points, rebounds, and blocks.

In his last eight games, Bass has averaged 13.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals. Bass should also have an easier time accruing stats on Tuesday against the Knicks, which lack any noteworthy big man to keep Bass out of the paint.

Honorable Mentions: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (DET, SG), Danilo Gallinari (DEN, SF)
