DFS Studs: Our Best DFS Lineup Picks for Fantasy Football

Each week here at RotoBaller, we provide the subscribers of our DFS Lineup Picks of the Week Newsletter with some of the highest quality advice for salary cap fantasy football for DFS weekly league sites.  We also have lots of great DFS analysis weekly, so be sure to check back.

Why We Love Daily League Fantasy Football

By Larry Maurer [CC-BY-2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsIt's time for Week 14 already and some of us luckier RotoBallers are primed and ready for the fantasy football playoffs. Unfortunately, along with the winners are also some less fortunate season long losers.

Are you one of those people whose fantasy football team is eliminated from the fantasy playoffs? Or maybe you only have one team left, and the rest have been eliminated but you want to roll out more lineups? Well if you don't feel like waiting another 9-10 full months to play more fantasy football, then we have the perfect new tasty treat to feed your fantasy football appetite. The weekly formats of DFS fantasy football is just what the doctor ordered. Draft a new team each week, and battle it out against your friends or as many opponents as you please.

It's my favorite way to supplement my fantasy football teams, and plug-and-play guys that I wish I owned in my leagues on a weekly basis. After all there's nothing like owning C.J. Anderson, Julio Jones, Jamaal Charles, A.J. Green, Antonio Brown, Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady for one week, when you missed out on them in all of your season-long fantasy football leagues.

Looking for An Edge?

If you play salary cap leagues on any of the leading DFS sites, then our expert picks can give you the edge you need to win. Each week we analyze the player matchups, and the associated pricing across the sites to identify the sleepers and value picks to put together a winning lineup. With each newsletter, you will receive our well-researched weekly picks for each position, with both a “Strong Play” and a “Value Play”, and we will also include two or three budget buster tournament plays for each position. All in all, you will be receiving a minimum of 12 of our expertly hand-picked recommendations for your gaming pleasure!

We’ve reprinted some of RotoBaller’s lineup picks from last week’s subscribers-only exclusive newsletter to give you an idea of the DFS analysis that we put forward each and every week. As you can see below, our experts had some sweet recommendations for Week 13, so hopefully you got in on the action! And if not, no worries, there’s still plenty of time for Week 15 and beyond.

A Recap of Some DFS Lineup Picks from Week 14

QB - Russell Wilson (FantasyScore $6,000)

Coming into Week 14 as the 6th leading DFS scoring quarterback per weekly average, Russell Wilson headlines our value picks at the quarterback position as he faces off against the Eagles on the road.

Philadelphia allows the 4th most fantasy points per week to opposing signal callers at a clip of 19.74 per game. They also run a fast paced, high scoring offense that seems to make opponents have to throw the ball more than average to keep up.

With all of those factors in play for Week 14, we think it's not a bad move to bypass Peyton, Aaron and Andrew, and push your DFS luck with Russell. In reality he's a much more of a stable and consistent fantasy performer than most casual fans want to give him credit for, and certainly a man to count in versus a team prone to high scoring battles with their opponents.

Result: 263 passing yards, 2 TD, 48 rushing yards - BULLSEYE

QB - Matt Ryan (FantasyScore $6,700)

Atlanta travels to the frozen tundra in Green Bay to face the NFL's best team in what Las Vegas projects as the highest scoring matchup of Week 14. With that being the case for a projected 56 points of total offense, you know we want a piece of the action come Sunday. Since  we aren't in the business of recommending obvious studs like Aaron Rodgers, we are thinking that Matty Ice makes a beautiful contrarian sleeper quarterback play for Week 14 of DFS action.

Ryan is rated as the 7th best passer in the NFL based on Pro Football Focus, and the Packers are also allowing a generous 24.26 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. That leaves plenty of scoring opportunities for Matthew Ice, Roddy WhiteJulio Jones and company to do their damage.

With an almost sure shot shootout brewing in Green Bay for Week 14, we recommend you save a few shekels on Ryan's signal calling counterpart and get this proven winner into your DFS mix for a chance at hauling in a legitimate early Christmas shopping spree.

Result: 375 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT, 23 rushing yards - BULLSEYE

WR (Budget Buster) - Marqise Lee (FantasyScore $4,100)

With all of the top end rookie wide receivers in the 2014 class, it's possible to overlook Jaguars stud Marqise Lee. After an injury riddled start to his pro career, Blake Bortles has began looking his way more as evidenced by the 13 targets combined in the past 2 weeks. Those added looks have resulted in 9 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown in his past 2 contests, an average of 13.8 fantasy points per game in PPR formats over his past 2 contests.

With his price tag for Week 14 of DFS action being cheaper than a Dunkin' Donuts  munchkin,  and Houston's defense allowing the second most points per week to opposing wide receivers, Marqise Lee makes a very sneaky and useful budget buster for his upcoming home start. We will surely have some exposure here and we hope you are savvy enough to do the same for your lineups.

Result: 5 receptions, 67 receiving yards, 4 rushing yards TD - HIT

RB (Value) - Jonathan Stewart  (FantasyScore $4,900)

With DeAngelo Williams ruled out for Week 14, the younger and more explosive Jonathan Stewart gets his chance to show why the Panthers have stuck by his injury riddled self for this long.

New Orleans allows 22.22 fantasy points per week to running backs, good for 4th worst in the NFL heading into Week 14. This means plenty of scoring potential for a quality back when he's been healthy and gotten the touches. We predict solid RB2 or Flex value production out of Cam Newtons security blanket for this dirty south showdown in the Superdome.

Result: 155 rushing yards, 1 TD - BULLSEYE

Travis Kelce - (FantasyScore $5,000)

We keep coming back to this tantalizing option even though he has disappointed us from time to time, but Week 14 presents fantasy enthusiasts with a strong matchup for against the Cardinals defense that allows an average of 9.83 fantasy points per contest to opposing tight ends. There is a large gap between the elite studs and the potential duds in the NFL these days, so you're better off take a good calculated flyer on a 6'5" potential red zone target if you don't have enough cheddar for Gronk or Graham in Week 14.

Result: 7 receptions, 110 receiving yards - BULLSEYE

Minnesota Vikings - (FantasyScore $2,500)

Last week on his NBC Talk Radio Show @Schultz_Report touted the sleeper Vikings, and they delivered in a tremendous way racking up a whopping 26 fantasy points against the Carolina Panthers, a team surrendering the 6th most points to opposing fantasy defenses.

Well RotoBallers, we’re expecting a repeat performance against the lowly New Jersey Jets offensive attack in Week 14. Minnesota’s 9th rated defense based on Pro Football Focus faces off against Sexy Rexy’s horrific offense, that touts a turnover prone quarterback devoid of throwing abilities and passing opportunities.

Even without Geno Smith not chucking interceptions and fumbling all over the place, Eric Decker ,Percy Harvin and Chris Ivory have simply not been getting the job done in fantasy or reality. Neither has Chris JohnsonJeff CumberlandJace Amaro or Michael Vick when he’s come in for mop-up duties.

In our opinion, this home matchup should only add fuel to the shellacking the Jets and their lame duck head coach are scheduled to receive. Confidently plug the new Purple People Eaters into your Week 14 DFS lineups if you need a strong play against a Jets team allowing the 5th most fantasy points per week to opposing defenses.

Result: 14 fantasy points  - BULLSEYE
