Week 5 NFL DFS Cheat Sheet: Expert Picks and Lineups
Welcome to Week 5 of the NFL Season! Each week, I'll be bringing you our famous NFL DFS Cheat Sheet with expert research and picks for cash games and GPPs. Here are a few notes about the sheet.
- Green means GO (good for the player), while red reflects a poor rating/matchup. The more green, the better...
- CASH CORE pieces are highlighted with a BRIGHT GREEN highlighter on the chart for extra emphasis.
- The "fantasy points allowed rank" reflects how a player's opponent ranked in fantasy points allowed to their specific position. The lower the number, the better the matchup.
- Passing and rushing game matchups are again DVOA ratings, as I regained access to that metric and find it to be super helpful.
- A play labeled "cash" is a higher-owned play recommended for cash games. A "strong" play is playable in all formats. "Slate-breakers" are some of my favorite GPP targets for upside or reduced ownership.
- Vegas and risk columns will all be updated during the week to reflect injury info, weather info, and the most recent Vegas info.

Cash Game Cores
DraftKings: Jahmyr Gibbs - Chase Brown - Nico Collins - Trey McBride
FanDuel: Jahmyr Gibbs - Aaron Jones Sr. - Nico Collins - Michael Wilson
RB/WR Anchors
Jahmyr Gibbs (DET) vs. ARI
This one doesn't take much explanation, but Gibbs is the chalk of chalk this week in this game against Arizona, which we will be targeting heavily on both sides. He has just too high of a floor (and ceiling) to fade and a real chance for 150+ scrimmage yards and 2-3 touchdowns.
Aaron Jones (MIN) vs. NO
Jones is one of my top-rated backs this week. He's cheap on both sites, unlike Chase Brown and D'Andre Swift, who are only values on one site. I like those other guys (and Jaylen Warren), but Jones is a priority for me against a really bad Saints rush defense.
Nico Collins (HOU) vs. TEN
Nico is back and dominating the targets in Houston. While JSN, Chase, and St. Brown are all options this week, too, Collins stands out to me as one of the safest plays on the board against a bad Titans pass defense.
Trey McBride and/or Michael Wilson (ARI) vs. DET
We want a lot of Arizona exposure this week as Detroit's defense has been a sieve. The Lions are getting smashed by tight ends, and McBride looks like mega-chalk on DK. On FD, I might try to get them both, but Wilson is the priority as he's a lot cheaper (relative to the cap) over there.
Deeper GPP Flyers
This is where I want to give you some other players who will be in my player pool and who didn't make the cheat sheet. The main recommended plays will always be geared more toward cash games and single-entry tournaments, but here are some lower-owned options for large-field tournaments.
QB: Joe Burrow, Tyson Bagent
RB: Keaton Mitchell
WR: Ja'Marr Chase (if he plays), Luther Burden III, Antonio Williams
TE: Brock Bowers, T.J. Hockenson
DEFENSES (cheapest to most expensive): LAC, LV, NYJ, CLE, WAS, MIN
