High-Confidence Strikeout Picks
Jacob Misiorowski OVER 7.5 strikeouts (+120 Novig)
As far as strikeouts from starting pitchers go this season, there is Jacob Misiorowski, and then there is everyone else. The Brewers' young phenom is lapping the field with a ridiculous 39.6% strikeout rate and 17.4% swinging-strike rate. The Mis has cleared this line of 7.5 strikeouts in each of his last five starts, and in seven of nine starts overall this season.
Jacob Misiorowski continues to absolutely DOMINATE.

The matchup against the Cubs is not ideal, but there should be a little extra motivation to shut down their biggest rival and the current division leader. Weather conditions should be more favorable than yesterday, with the wind blowing left-to-right rather than straight out like last night.
Emmet Sheehan OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-124 FanDuel)
Sheehan has pitched much better than his 4.54 ERA this season, with every ERA estimator sitting significantly below his actual results. Two in particular, xFIP (3.12) and SIERA (3.16), have him over a full run better than his actual ERA.
Perhaps even more impressively, Sheehan has continued to miss bats at the same elite level as he did last season. His swinging-strike rate sits at a robust 15.8% and suggests he has been quite unlucky in the raw strikeouts department. He has registered a 28.0% strikeout rate, but it should be much closer to the 30.6% figure he posted last season when his swinging-strike rate was a near-identical 15.6%.
Tonight's matchup adds even more appeal to Sheehan's chances to hit the over here. San Diego has been a below-average offense against right-handed pitching (94 wRC+), while striking out at the 9th-highest rate.
