Blake Snell 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Can the Dodgers' Pitcher Maintain Solid Numbers Despite Injury Concerns?
Blake Snell posted good numbers for the Dodgers last season when he was actually available. In 11 starts, Snell posted a 5-4 record with a 2.35 ERA and 1.26 WHIP, while his 72 Strikeouts in 61.1 innings pitched were the lowest of his career since the shortened 2020 pandemic season. The 33-year-old struggled with shoulder inflammation issues that put him on the injured list after his first two starts, and he did not return until August. After his return, he was inconsistent, as displayed by his K-BB% of 18.1 (lowest since 2017) and a Batting Average Against of .230 (highest since 2019). The Athletic's Katie Woo reported that Snell's opening day status is "in doubt". He was throwing off flat ground in camp in mid-February, after he previously mentioned feeling exhausted following the Dodgers' postseason run. Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts said, "Time's ticking, but like I told him the other day, Opening Day is not necessarily a hard and fast target for us." ATC projections on RotoBaller forecast Snell to have 166 strikeouts, a 3.43 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 10-6 record in 135 innings pitched. The NFBC ADP for Snell is 83, but RotoBaller.com ranks him at No.113 and No. 32 among starting pitchers. Although his injury history is a concern, and fantasy players should keep an eye on his status leading up to the regular season, Snell's potential numbers are still favorable enough to be a No. 3 Fantasy starter if he can actually pitch for most of the season.
