Emmet Sheehan 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Plenty of Upside if the Volume is There
Coming into the 2026 fantasy baseball season, there aren't many pitchers with more hype surrounding them than Emmet Sheehan. The 26-year-old right-hander is coming off a 2.82 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 7.6% walk rate, and a 30.6% strikeout rate across 73.1 innings last season for the Dodgers. Among starting pitchers with at least 70 innings, Sheehan ranked 7th in strikeout rate, 8th in K-BB rate, 4th in BAA, and 9th in WHIP. All of his ERA indicators and underlying metrics show that Sheehan's performance was no fluke either. All four of Sheehan's offerings had a whiff rate above 25%, with his slider leading the way at 43.6%. His three most used offerings all had a BAA under .220 as well. You can nitpick at the batted ball angles that he allows, but the positives vastly outnumber the negatives in Sheehan's profile. If he can get around 150 innings this season, Sheehan has the potential to post Top-20 SP value.
