Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was rumored to be a top target for the Wolverines, but if that was a real possibility, it was likely put to an end after the Crimson Tide defeated Oklahoma in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Brohm has been with the Cardinals for the last three seasons, posting a 27-12 record. The program finished as the ACC runner-up in 2023. Drinkwitz, who just agreed to a contract extension with Missouri, has a 58-29 career record in one season at Appalachian State and six campaigns in Columbia. Both coaches specialize on the offensive side of the ball, which could be attractive for rising sophomore quarterback Bryce Underwood.
