LaNorris Sellers to Return to South Carolina in 2026
South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers is negotiating a new deal to return to the program for the 2026 season, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Many assumed the talented South Carolina native could be headed for the transfer portal or the NFL following a disappointing season in 2025, but he'll remain in Columbia for at least one more season. Sellers broke out as a redshirt freshman in 2024, tossing for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 674 yards and seven scores, leading South Carolina to a nine-win season. This season, he tallied 2,437 passing yards, 270 rushing yards, and just 18 total touchdowns, as the Gamecocks finished with a 4-8 record. South Carolina recently hired former TCU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles to help Sellers turn things around in his redshirt Junior campaign. With a strong season, he could play his way into the No. 1 overall pick discussion in the 2027 NFL Draft.
