Week 11 Defense (DST) Rankings Outlooks
Kansas City Chiefs D/ST
The Kansas City Chiefs' defense will take on the Denver Broncos in Week 11. The Kansas City defense had been a solid unit, allowing 17 or fewer points in three straight games, until they faced Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in Week 10. The Chiefs' defense allowed 28 points in their Week 10 loss to the Bills. The Chiefs' defense will get a chance to bounce back against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos this week.
The Broncos' offense is middle-of-the-pack in points per game this season, and the Kansas City defense has held opposing offenses to the third-fewest points per game this season. The main issue holding the Chiefs back is their lack of takeaways.
The Chiefs' defense is tied for the fifth-fewest takeaways this season, which holds back their upside potential. That said, the Chiefs are one of the better teams in point prevention, which could be their saving grace against the Broncos this week. The Chiefs' defense is ranked seventh in our RotoBaller rankings, making them a start-worthy unit this week.
Los Angeles Chargers D/ST
The Los Angeles Chargers D/ST dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, recording three sacks, two interceptions (including rookie RJ Mickens' second of the season), and a safety via Khalil Mack. They also showed strength against the run, allowing only 73 yards. This unit now faces an inconsistent Jacksonville Jaguars offense led by Trevor Lawrence, who has been sacked 26 times (6th most) and has a poor 10:7 TD:INT ratio.
The Chargers' defense, ranked fifth in passing yards allowed per game, will need to continue bottling up the run and applying pressure on Lawrence to force turnovers. Although DB Elijah Molden (knee) is questionable, CB Tarheeb Still (knee) is expected to return. The D/ST has demonstrated high-ceiling potential through sacks and interceptions and is a sneaky streaming option this week, projected at D/ST11.
Carolina Panthers D/ST
The Carolina Panthers' defense is a deeper option to consider against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11. Last week, the Panthers' defense held the Saints to 17 points. This marked the third time in the last four games the Panthers' defense has not let their opponent score more than 20 points. Carolina will be facing Michael Penix Jr. in Week 11. This is the second matchup of the season against the Falcons' QB. Penix threw two of his three total interceptions of the season against Carolina in their Week 3 matchup.
Week 3 also marked the only time this season that the Falcons were shut out. Fantasy players looking for a streaming option on Defense should consider Carolina against their division rival. Penix has been sacked eight times in the last four weeks, including three last week against the Indianapolis Colts' defense. The Panthers' D/ST unit is ranked 14th this week on RotoBaller.
Miami Dolphins D/ST
The Miami Dolphins defense had a big game last week against the Bills, and they are in a good matchup in Spain this Sunday morning. The Commanders will have Marcus Mariota starting in place of Jayden Daniels and will also be without receivers Terry McLaurin (quad) and Luke McCaffrey (collarbone).
The Dolphins matched their season-high with three takeaways and three sacks, while allowing just 13 points to the Bills last week. They come into this week as the No. 15 DST in RotoBaller's rankings, making them a fringe starter if you're desperate since the Commanders don't have as much dynamic upside without Daniels, and the defense did a good job limiting Josh Allen last week.
