Sam LaPorta Set to Build on Week 5 Breakout in Week 6?
Sam LaPorta had by far his best game of the 2025 season in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, recording five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown on six targets. LaPorta now has 21 catches for 269 yards and a score on 27 targets through five games. However, the Lions have a difficult matchup in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Kansas City has allowed the ninth-fewest passing yards (999) and the fourth-fewest number of passing touchdowns (five) in the NFL so far this season. The Chiefs are also particularly stingy against tight ends, allowing an average of just 3.6 receptions and 32.8 yards per game to the position. Still, LaPorta will likely be the Lions' second-leading target-getter behind star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. LaPorta profiles as a must-start fantasy tight end in Week 6.
