Week 6 Kicker Streamers and Starts - 2025 Fantasy Tiers, Rankings

Chase McLaughlin - Fantasy Football Rankings, Kicker Streamers, NFL Injury News

Kacey Kasem looks at all 2025 fantasy football Week 6 kickers -- streamers, starts, sits, targets, avoids, and waiver wire pickups. Our Week 6 rankings and tiers for all of the NFL kickers.

I'm from Texas, but I'm out visiting friends in Arizona. Waking up before the sun's up just to watch football on Sunday felt wrong, but I did it anyway. Look, I'm not going to let a silly time zone get in the way of enjoying football. And you're not going to let a kicker get in the way of you enjoying a fantasy football victory in Week 6.

Of course, these injuries and byes are out here trying to ruin all the fun. Spencer Shrader's season came to an end after tearing his ACL and MCL, leaving the Colts without a kicker for the time being. Meanwhile, with Week 6 here, both Will Reichard (Vikings) and Ka'imi Fairbairn (Texans) are on bye, giving us even fewer options at the position.

The kicker landscape isn't the best this week, but there are still solid plays if you look in the right places. Let's get into which kickers are worth streaming and who might ruin your Sunday Funday.

Week 6 Kicker Rankings for Fantasy Football

10/6 Update: Colts kicker Spencer Shrader suffered a torn ACL and MCL and is out for the season. Michael Badgley is expected to take over as the Colts kicker and was signed on Tuesday.

10/9 Update: Packers kicker Brandon McManus injured his right quad in practice on Wednesday. His status should be monitored.

Kicker Streamers to Target for Week 6

Only players rostered in fewer than 60% of fantasy football leagues are considered streamers.

Matt Prater (BUF) at Atlanta Falcons
37% Rostered

Prater has been around for ages, but somehow he's still underrated this season. In Sunday's 23-20 loss to New England, the veteran hit both of his field goals and extra points. Through five matchups, he's knocked through 10-of-11 field goals and all 15-of-15 extra points.

With Tyler Bass (hip/groin) still on injured reserve, Prater's job seems safe for the moment. Plus, he's got the bonus of kicking in one of the best offenses in the league.

In Week 6, the Bills face the Falcons, a team allowing the sixth-most fantasy points per contest to opposing kickers. Additionally, this matchup takes place in a dome, meaning there will be no weather headaches. All of this makes Prater one of the safest plays of Week 6.

Wil Lutz (DEN) at New York Jets
17% Rostered

The Broncos haven't exactly been on fire this season, but Lutz has quietly become one of their most reliable players. In Sunday's 21-17 victory over Philadelphia, the kicker went 2-for-2 on field goals while hitting his lone extra point. One of those FGs came from a distance of 55 yards, giving a glimpse into his long-range abilities.

Over the season, Lutz is 6-for-7 on field goals and a perfect 12-for-12 on extra points. The sample size isn't huge, but he's been very efficient when Denver gets him into position. The problem has been more on the offense than anything, with drives stalling before reaching scoring range.

The Broncos take on the Jets in London this week, a defense that has conceded the most fantasy points to opposing kickers so far this season. Even if Denver can't find the end zone, they should stall in a prime position for Lutz. His ceiling isn't massive, but he has a safe floor in this week's matchup.

Matt Gay (WAS) vs. Chicago Bears
33% Rostered

It seems like Gay always bounces back right after we start doubting him. After a shaky beginning to the season, missing three field goals between Weeks 2 and 3, he's back to looking like his dependable self.

In the Commanders' win over the Chargers in Week 5, he knocked in both field goals and all three extra points. His season totals are now 12-for-12 on point-after tries and 8-for-11 on field goals.

Washington's offense looks better in Jayden Daniels' return, and that's a positive for Gay. The Commanders aren't firing on all cylinders this season, but they are moving the ball enough to give Gay chances in the kick game.

He currently averages 9.4 fantasy points per matchup and is the K8 on the season. The kicker is still available in two-thirds of the league, so he should make for a good streaming option.

This week's matchup with the Bears is a nice setup for him. Chicago allows the second-most rushing yards to opponents, so look for Washington to move into scoring position via the ground. Additionally, there's a high projected point total on Monday night, adding to Gay's appeal.

Kickers to Avoid for Week 6

Evan McPherson (CIN) at Green Bay Packers
29% Rostered

One of the most accurate kickers out there, McPherson can't score fantasy points without opportunities. He is 5-for-5 on field goals and 10-for-10 on extra points, but he's averaging just 5.6 fantasy points per contest.

The loss of QB Joe Burrow (toe) in Week 2 has completely killed this team's vibe. The Bengals have not scored more than 24 points in three straight games, so he hasn't contributed much. Last week, McPherson hit a field goal and three extra points, which were good enough for just eight fantasy points (the most of his season).

Now, McPherson takes on a Packers defense fresh off a bye. There's very little reason to expect he gains more opportunities this week.

Daniel Carlson (LV) vs. Tennessee Titans
22% Rostered

The Raiders' offense is rough, and Carlson's fantasy stats are paying the price. He connected on 2-of-3 field goals in Week 5's matchup with the Colts, tallying all of Vegas' points in a 40-6 loss.

The kicker was accurate from 24 and 37 yards but missed from 57, basically summing up how Vegas is playing as a whole right now.

Carlson is 9-for-12 on field goals and 6-for-6 on extra points this season, which is fine, but not game-changing at the kicker position. The Raiders have yet to score more than 24 points this year, and it's tough to continue trusting him when the offense can't move the ball.

This week, you can find a better kicker to put in your starting lineup. Carlson's name feels safe, but the Raiders offense really isn't right now. Pivot to a streamer in a better offense until Vegas finds its groove.

Jason Myers (SEA) at Jacksonville Jaguars
49% Rostered

Myers missed his only field goal try and went 5-for-5 on extra points in Sunday's 38-35 defeat to the Buccaneers. It was the third contest this season where the kicker had at least one miss. This time, it was a 44-yarder in the first quarter. It's starting to feel like we can't trust him.

He's sitting at 9-for-12 on field goals, connecting on 3-of-4 of those from 50-plus yards. That's not bad, but it's also not ideal either. Myers has been perfect on extra points (17-for-17), so he has that, but it's not enough to feel confident heading into a tough contest.

Jacksonville is his Week 6 opponent, and they've surrendered the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing kickers. If you have another option, even just a one-week streamer, it might be a good time to put Myers on the bench.
