Montreal Canadiens defenseman Noah Dobson (groin) is considered day-to-day. The Canadiens appear to have dodged a bullet after Dobson was injured in Thursday's preseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This was Dobson's second appearance with Montreal since joining from the New York Islanders in the summer. He might be done for the rest of the preseason, but the day-to-day status suggests Dobson isn't at risk of missing the start of the regular season. The 25-year-old is expected to play a crucial role in the Canadiens defense and will aim to rebound after a disappointing 2024-25 season, where Dobson went from a 70-point scorer to a 39-point player.--Taavi Pailk
