3 Must-Add Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 4 Fantasy Football: Jaxson Dart Kimani Vidal, Emari Demercado

Jaxson Dart - Fantasy Football Rankings, Rookie QB Sleepers

Should I add Kimani Vidal, Jaxson Dart, Emari Demercado for Week 4? Read about 3 must-add fantasy football waiver wire pickups, free agent outlooks for 2025.

With the numerous injuries in Week 3, many fantasy managers have needed to look deeper on the waiver wire to find replacements.

In this piece, we will spotlight three players who have recently moved up their respective depth charts and could be in store for a larger role in Week 4.

So, should fantasy managers add Vidal, Dart, and Demarcado in Week 4? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Kimani Vidal Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

The Los Angeles Chargers lost veteran running back Najee Harris to a season-ending Achilles injury during their Week 3 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon. As a result, rookie running back Omarion Hampton is slated to take the lead role while Kimani Vidal is expected to jump to the No. 2 spot.

Vidal has been on one team's practice squad, while Hassan Haskins has been the No. 3 option on the roster. However, Vidal possesses much higher upside than Haskins does and should be able to take over the backup job relatively quickly.

As a rookie, Vidal was not given many opportunities but produced when on the field, totaling 155 yards on 43attempts. Through the air, Vidal caught five of his nine targets for 62 yards and a touchdown.

More importantly, earlier this week, Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh noted that Vidal is the "next man up" in the backfield, with Harris now out of the lineup. While Haskins should be given opportunities or the Chargers could look to bring in another outside running back ot the roster, for now, Vidal figures to sit as the No. 2 option in Week 4

As a result, he is worth adding in all 14-team formats as a handcuff. If Hampton were to struggle in the lead role, the Chargers could turn to Vidal to ease his workload.

Jaxson Dart Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

In a surprising move, on Tuesday afternoon, the New York Giants announced that they will be turning to their first-round rookie QB to kickstart the offense in Week 4. While the team was expected to give Russell Wilson the majority of the starting opportunities this season, in just three games, they have already shifted the focus to their franchise QB.

In the presence, Dart looked very prolific at the professional level, going 32-for-47 with 372 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson showed promise in Week 2 in a high-scoring loss to the Cowboys, but struggled to move the offense in Weeks 1 and 3.

While Dart has some risk attached to him, he is worth a speculative add in all 12+ team leagues as he could emerge as a low-end QB1. In this offense, Dart has an elite wide receiver in Malik Nabers and a solid No. 2 option in Wan'Dale Robinson.

In addition, with Tyrone Tracy Jr. (shoulder) sidelined for 2-4 games, the Giants may look to push the ball downfield even more.

Dart has a tough matchup in his NFL debut against the Chargers and should not be started in any single-QB leagues. However, managers looking to find an upside QB should look to start him ahead as he could emerge as a top-12 option in Week 5 when he faces the New Orleans Saints, who have allowed the ninth-most PPR points to opposing QBs this season.

Emari Demercado Week 4 Waiver Wire Pickups

The final running back we will look at has also been bumped up the depth chart due to injuries.

With James Conner (ankle) out for the season, Demercado figures to move up to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. While Trey Benson projects to serve as the workhorse, Demercado could find a role as a change-of-pace option.

In Week 3, with Conner exiting early, Demercado logged his first two carries of the season and saw a season-high seven offensive snaps. He also ran two routes and was unable to bring in his lone target.

While his upside does not appear to be as high as Vidal's, he faces minimal competition for the No.2 spot on he depth chart. Through the first three games of the season, Bam Knight, the team's No. 3 RB, has been a healthy scratch in two games. In the lone game he did play in (Week 2), Knight did not log an offensive snap.

Fantasy managers in deeper 14+ team formats should look to stash Demercado on their bench as he carries value as a handcuff. If Benson were to struggle, especially on passing downs, Demercado could carve out a role that is more suitable for deeper PPR leagues.

However, managers in shallower 12-team leagues should leave the TCU product on the waiver wire for the time being.
