Welcome to Week 3 of the NFL Season! Each week, I'll be bringing you our famous NFL DFS Cheat Sheet with expert research and picks for cash games and GPPs. Here are a few notes about the sheet.
- We are using 2024 data for the first three or four weeks.
- Green means GO (good for the player) while red reflects a poor rating/matchup. The more green, the better...
- CASH CORE pieces are highlighted with a BRIGHT GREEN highlighter on the chart for extra emphasis.
- The "fantasy points allowed rank" reflects how a player's opponent ranked in fantasy points allowed to their specific position. The lower the number, the better the matchup.
- Passing and rushing game matchups are again DVOA ratings, as I regained access to that metric and find it to be super helpful.
- A play labeled "cash" is a higher-owned play recommended for cash games. A "strong" play is playable in all formats. "Slate-breakers" are some of my favorite GPP targets for upside or reduced ownership.
- Vegas and risk columns will all be updated during the week to reflect injury info, weather info, and the most recent Vegas info.

Deeper GPP Flyers
This is where I want to give you some other players who will be in my player pool, who didn't make the cheat sheet. The main recommended plays will always be geared more toward cash games and single-entry tournaments, but here are some lower-owned options for large-field tournaments.
QB: Jordan Love, Marcus Mariota, and/or Carson Wentz (both min-priced punts)
RB: Bucky Irving, Alvin Kamara, Tony Pollard, Rhamondre Stevenson
WR: Ja'Marr Chase, A.J. Brown, DJ Moore, Tetairoa McMillan, Calvin Ridley
TE: Brock Bowers, Tyler Warren, Zach Ertz
DEFENSES (cheapest to most expensive): JAX, ARI, LAC, NE, ATL, TB

Injury statuses that we care about...
JSN - questionable with a sickness. THIS SUCKS, because he is in the afternoon games and was in my preliminary cash game lineup. Be prepared to pivot to Kenneth Walker or Javonte Williams in your utility slot if you deploy any JSN in cash on DK; he's too expensive on FD anyway.
Jauan Jennings - questionable. I'm not worried about playing him as much as I want some Ricky Pearsall exposure in tournaments if Jennings is out.
Tucker Kraft - questionable. If he plays, I will have some in tournaments. I still want some Romeo Doubs either way, I think.
CASH GAMES
Going to force in the Jordan Mason chalk, I would rather not be without him if he runs for two TDs. It's much easier to fade expensive chalk than cheap chalk because I can replace McCaffrey's 25 DK points with Robinson or Taylor more likely than I can find another 5400 dollar play that matches Mason - if he goes off.
Mariota or Wentz at QB punt? Rostership showing Mariota as chalkier, and I think he's the safer choice due to his rushing floor. I don't think you have to punt QB on FanDuel with the way the pricing is there, so either QB from the Dallas-Chicago game makes sense.
I have to have at least one Cowboy in cash; it's probably CeeDee for me, but if you wanted to play Dak, too, that's fine. I am not going to force Javonte only because of the flexibility we have at RB now, with KW3 also an option there. Bijan Robinson is still a priority for me.
Tournaments
This is my strategy, and I would recommend it on chalk slates like this. If you are playing Dak and Lamb in cash, you should be heavier on Caleb Williams and Odunze in tournaments, and vice versa. Javonte Williams will probably be my highest-owned tournament play because he's trending towards being the lowest-owned Cowboy.
You want to position yourself so that you can hit cash games, even if some chalk busts, and be able to then leverage that in tournaments by going overweight on your favorite plays that didn't make your cash game build.
