Joe Gibbs Racing driver Chase Briscoe became one of the more competitive threats as the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway went on, but ultimately settled for a top-10 finish. Briscoe started the race deep in the field from the 31st position. He spent the entire first stage trying to make up ground on the field, both on pit road and on the track. Briscoe ended the first stage in 13th, failing to score stage points. In the second stage, Briscoe did make it up to the top 10, but as pit stops occurred, he fell back outside of the top 10 and ended the stage in the 11th position, falling short of stage points. In the final stage, Briscoe finally made it up to the front and acquired the lead after pit stops cycled him to first. He led for most of the final stage until lap 416, when his teammate Ty Gibbs bumped him out of the way for the lead. Briscoe never made it back up to first from this point, but still executed on pit stops and restarts in order to leave Bristol with a finish of ninth. This marks Briscoe's third career top-10 finish at Bristol as well as his third consecutive in the Cup Series.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
