Ha-Seong Kim Scratched With Lower-Back Tightness on Wednesday
Ha-Seong Kim (back) was scratched on Wednesday against the New York Yankees because of tightness in his lower back, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Rays started Tristan Gray at short in Kim's place. Kim is considered day-to-day, so it doesn't seem like a serious issue, though it's worth noting he spent time on the 10-day injured list earlier this summer with a low-back strain. After recovering from offseason surgery on his right shoulder, Kim debuted on June 4 and has struggled over 24 games and 93 plate appearances. The former San Diego Padre has hit .214/.290/.321 line with two homers, five RBI, five runs scored, and six stolen bases.
