Brian Robinson Jr. Excused From Wednesday's Practice
Brian Robinson Jr. from practice on Wednesday as questions centering on his future persist. Head coach Dan Quinn said the Commanders are hoping to have a resolution soon on Robinson, whose tenure with the team appears likely to end via trade or release. In his third season in 2024, the 26-year-old carried the ball 187 times and set career highs in rushing yards (799) and touchdowns (eight), but he has fallen out of favor heading into 2025. Robinson wasn't with the Commanders for their second preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. Seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez Jr. handled most of the work in his absence. With Robinson on the outs, Croskey-Merritt, Rodriguez, and veteran Austin Ekeler will all vie for touches this season.
