Tim Patrick 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Will Face Challenge From Rookie For WR3 Job
Detroit Lions wide receiver Tim Patrick will now have to battle rookie wideout Isaac TeSlaa to maintain his standing as the team's clear third-best receiver, behind WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. It also doesn't help that tight end Sam LaPorta and running back Jahmyr Gibbs both demand significant target volume, making that group of four the funnels through with the majority of Detroit's passing game runs through. TeSlaa was drafted in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, so the team invested significant capital into him. Patrick is 31 years old and will turn 32 in November, and the younger, faster, and fresher TeSlaa could make quick work of surpassing him on the depth chart. Patrick has suffered an ACL tear and Achilles tendon rupture, so he'll have the lingering effects of those to fight through. Everything seems to point to him being irrelevant in fantasy football in 2025, and his career could end soon.
