Walker Buehler Struggles Again on Friday
Walker Buehler (4-4) took his fourth loss of the season in a 9-6 decision against the New York Yankees on Friday. Buehler lasted just two innings and allowed seven runs (five earned) on seven hits, including two homers, with two strikeouts and two walks. The outing continued a rough start to the season for Buehler, a former Dodger who joined the Red Sox on a one-year, $21 million deal in free agency. The 31-year-old has pitched to a bloated 5.18 ERA (5.30 FIP) with 44 strikeouts, 17 walks, and a career-worst HR/fly ball percentage of 19.6 over 48 2/3 innings with his new team. Buehler, who has totaled a mere three quality starts in 10 tries, will attempt to right the ship against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. He held the Rays to two runs in five frames in an April 15 win.
