Washington Capitals winger Alex Ovechkin opened the scoring on the power play to help the team advance to the next playoff round with a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night. The NHL's all-time top goal-scorer found the back of the net off a Dylan Strome faceoff in the middle of the first frame. This was Ovechkin's 30th career postseason power-play goal, tying him with Joe Pavelski and Nicklas Lidstrom for fifth place on the NHL's all-time list. The veteran superstar recorded two power-play goals in total against the Canadiens and finished the series with five points (four goals, one assist) in as many games. Next up, Ovechkin and the Capitals will face the Carolina Hurricanes. During the regular season, Ovechkin had two goals and three points in three games of the matchup.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
