NFL QB Power Rankings (Post-NFL Draft): All 32 Starting Quarterbacks (2025)

Quincy projects and ranks all 32 starting NFL quarterbacks for the 2025 season. Where does each quarterback (QB) stand post-NFL Draft before the 2025 season?

The NFL Draft has come and gone, and a new crop of quarterbacks is entering the league. While this year's quarterback class was not as strong as most seasons, there are still a few players who may find their way to a starting job besides Cam Ward, of course.

The NFL Draft can affect the outlook of each quarterback in the NFL depending on the additions teams make on the offensive line, in the wide receiver room, and even on defense. The most dependent position in the game requires a quality supporting cast.

It is never too early to see where everyone in the league stands, particularly following major offseason roster-altering events. Let's take a look at the scope of quarterbacks for 2025.

No. 32: Shedeur Sanders - Cleveland Browns

The Browns did the most Browns thing they could do by waiting to draft Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round after already selecting Dillon Gabriel in the third. Gabriel was universally considered a late-round pick, yet he went on Day 2. Still, Sanders is the best quarterback on the roster. Surely the Browns know this. Perhaps I expect too much from the franchise.

No. 31: Cam Ward - Tennessee Titans

Cam Ward has essentially been a Titan for several weeks. Now that it is official, it is time to see what this kid can do. The Titans are not devoid of offensive talent with wide receiver Calvin Ridley and running backs Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard. Ward could have a solid rookie season with a relatively quality franchise.

No. 30: Derek Carr - New Orleans Saints

We will hold with Derek Carr as the Saints' Week 1 starter for now. However, each passing day seems to cast more doubt on his ability to return from a shoulder injury. The Saints drafted Tyler Shough in Round 2 of the NFL Draft, and he would likely be the starter should Carr be unable to go.

No. 29: Anthony Richardson - Indianapolis Colts

The Colts added Tyler Warren to their weaponry and will hope that he can help Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones, depending on who wins the starting job. Richardson *should* win, and hopefully, the addition of Warren plus a healthy offseason can help him take a step forward.

No. 28: Aaron Rodgers - Pittsburgh Steelers

Aaron Rodgers still seems like he is in pole position to be the Steelers starting quarterback this season, but the probability feels like it lowers with each passing day. Of course, Rodgers is an enigma, and his decision-making timeline will always be unbeknownst to anyone but himself.

No. 27: Drake Maye - New England Patriots

Drake Maye got a major upgrade during the draft. The Patriots made their offensive line a priority, and they added talented running back TreVeyon Henderson. Maye has a chance to take a massive leap forward with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels returning to town.

No. 26: Michael Penix Jr. - Atlanta Falcons

The draft did not have much bearing on the outlook of Michael Penix Jr. because most of the Falcons' holes were on defense. At this point, it will simply be on Penix to go out and perform. He has the pieces around him to do so and I expect his talent to shine through in 2025.

No. 25: Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence received a shiny new toy when the Jaguars traded up in the draft to select cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter. Whether or not Hunter plays full-time or part-time offense, he will be invaluable to the development of Lawrence. Hunter has elite ball skills that, paired with the speed and route-winning ability of fellow wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., will give Lawrence excellent targets to throw to.

No. 24: Justin Fields - New York Jets

Justin Fields is on a prove-it deal with the Jets, but they still did well by him by adding a tackle in the first round and tight end Mason Taylor in the second. Fields has a chance to succeed with a solid regime entering the fold in New York and a few solid weapons in place.

No. 23: Russell Wilson - New York Giants

Russell Wilson figures to start the season as the starting quarterback, but history suggests that Jaxson Dart will make a start at some point, given his status as a first-round pick. Still, Wilson probably gives the Giants the best chance to win this season, something head coach Brian Daboll needs to do to keep his job.

No. 22: J.J. McCarthy - Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings continue to support J.J. McCarthy throughout the offseason. Although he is ranked as the No. 22 quarterback right now, McCarthy could easily end the season in the top 10 given the supporting cast.

No. 21: Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young received a big boost in the form of Tetairoa McMillan on draft night. McMillan is a big-bodied wide receiver who can run smooth routes. He is not the best separator, but he is a quarterback's dream as someone who can win 50/50 catches. All of a sudden, Young has solid weapons and a decent offensive line in place.

No. 20: Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears

No quarterback won bigger this offseason than Caleb Williams. The Bears had already signed head coach and offensive genius Ben Johnson. However, on draft night, they added tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III. If Williams does not climb this list this season, then that will be on him.

No. 19: Geno Smith - Las Vegas Raiders

Geno Smith will spend a lot of this season handing the ball off to talented running back Ashton Jeanty. Smith figures to succeed with his good friend and mentor, Pete Carroll, taking over in Vegas. With a new contract and no quarterbacks to threaten him, Smith has a chance to ride off into the sunset while stabilizing the Raiders offense.

No. 18: Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray and the Cardinals should be solid this year. The offense has no shortage of weaponry, and the defense continues to receive major upgrades. This feels like a make-or-break season for Murray, who has not quite delivered on elite promises many saw coming for him.

No. 17: Sam Darnold - Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks did well to protect Sam Darnold and add a weapon on Days 1 and 2 of the NFL Draft. The team had a great draft as a whole. It turned around and added solid undrafted wide receivers in addition to several wideouts picked throughout the draft. Darnold has a real chance to succeed in Seattle this season.

The thing about Sam Darnold is

He had those clutch moments where he fell apart, but never once did he pin the blame on anybody else.

No. 16: C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

C.J. Stroud received a couple of new toys in rookie wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. Both players are going to Houston from Iowa State and have a chance to be immediate significant contributors. The offensive line still needs a lot of work, but Stroud could bounce back with the addition of these wide receivers and Nico Collins already in place.

No. 15: Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys did not substantially upgrade their offense this offseason and seem poised to enter the 2025 season with about as much talent as they had in 2024. After missing out on wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, they did make a splash by drafting offensive guard Tyler Booker in the first round to replace Zack Martin, who recently retired. Booker will help keep Dak Prescott upright.

No. 14: Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy is entering a prove-it season as the 49ers quarterback. With many of his weapons injured or aging, the onus will be on Purdy to produce and earn a lucrative contract extension.

No. 13: Bo Nix - Denver Broncos

The Broncos did well to upgrade their defense this offseason and made slight upgrades to their offense. As such, Bo Nix has a chance to build on his excellent rookie season. Hopefully, the upgrades were enough to guarantee a progression from Nix rather than a sophomore slump.

No. 12: Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa is entering a critical season in his career. The Dolphins will need to win to keep head coach Mike McDaniel off the hot seat. Additionally, Tagovailoa's inability to stay on the field at this point in his career has been worrisome on a human level. Hopefully, Tagovailoa will find sustained and uninterrupted success in 2025.

No. 11: Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love was a big winner of the NFL Draft when the Packers drafted wide receiver Matthew Golden in the first round. Golden has a chance to become a bona fide No. 1 option for Love, which is exactly what the sixth-year quarterback has been lacking throughout his career. Love could enter a new stratosphere this season if things break correctly.

No. 10: Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield received yet another boost when the Buccaneers selected wide receiver Emeka Egbuka on Day 1. An argument can now be made that the Bucs have the best core of skill-position players in the league. While Mayfield may not achieve his career-year numbers from 2024 in 2025, he should still have a stellar season.

No. 9: Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford keeps getting it done as a veteran quarterback. He finds himself with another solid weapon in tight end Terrance Ferguson, whom the Rams drafted in Round 2. Expect Stafford to have another solid year in 2025.

No. 8: Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert received a boost in weapons with the addition of running back Omarion Hampton and wide receiver Tre Harris. Both players have a great chance to excel at their respective positions. Herbert had a great year in Year 1 of the Jim Harbaugh era, and he has a chance to take another large step forward in Year 2.

No. 7: Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

Jared Goff will be entering his 10th NFL season without his trustee offensive coordinator in Ben Johnson. However, Goff is talented enough with enough weapons around him that he should perform like the top 10 quarterback that he is in 2025.

No. 6: Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels was a big winner of free agency with the many additions the Commanders made via both signings and trades. Daniels is poised to follow up his all-time great rookie season with an equally great sophomore campaign.

No. 5: Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts is returning to a team that continues to crush the draft and free agency. There should be no concerns about Hurts' ability to continue to produce solid numbers in this offense.

No. 4: Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes was a big winner on draft night when offensive tackle Josh Simmons fell to the Chiefs. Simmons was projected to be selected much higher than where the Chiefs selected him. As such, Simmons could become an elite lineman for a team rebuilding its offensive line.

No. 3: Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow should have no issues continuing to play at a high level this coming season. His top two wideouts, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, are locked up long term, and Burrow himself is an extremely elite quarterback. No matter what other roster tweaks the Bengals make this offseason, Burrow will be excellent in 2025.

No. 2: Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore is running things back with largely the same offense in 2025. Lamar Jackson has never underperformed when healthy, and I expect more of the same this season.

No. 1: Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

The Bills spent most of the NFL Draft upgrading their defense. While it would appear on paper that they do not have a lot of offensive talent, they likely feel that having Josh Allen and a plethora of solid weapons will be good enough. I tend to agree.
