Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings Analysis For 2025

Jayden Daniels - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Joey Pollizze shares an early look at the quarterback position for the 2025 fantasy football season, giving insight into his favorite ADP values, breakouts, and bust candidates.

A lot of quarterbacks will be playing for new teams next year. Sam Darnold signed a three-year, $100.5 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks, Justin Fields agreed to a two-year, $40 million contract with the New York Jets, and Geno Smith was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders for a third-round pick. As a result, now is a good time to look ahead to 2025 fantasy football drafts.

Even though we are still months away from actually drafting our fantasy teams, it could be helpful to see where certain quarterbacks are going this early in the offseason. With all the moving parts at the quarterback position, several signal-callers will have their average draft position (ADP) adjusted heading into next season.

So, who will be the best option at the quarterback position next season? Who might be potential value picks? Who should fantasy managers avoid? Let's find out the answer to those questions.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

The Studs

Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be the first quarterback selected in 2025 fantasy football drafts. He has finished as a top-2 fantasy quarterback in five straight years and has scored above 405 fantasy points in three of the past four seasons. The only reason he didn't hit that mark in 2024 was because he sat out a meaningless Week 18 game.

Therefore, Allen will be a top fantasy quarterback once again next season. His rushing upside is always a big boost for fantasy managers, and the 2024 MVP has played in 68 of 68 potential games over the past four years. He will be a strong pick early in the third round of drafts.

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is coming off the best fantasy season of his career. He scored a career-high 434.38 fantasy points and averaged 25.6 PPR fantasy points per game behind a stellar 2024 campaign. Jackson threw for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions while also rushing for 915 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

The two-time MVP was exceptional for fantasy managers all year, and that won't change next season. As a result, Jackson will be a top quarterback selection in 2025 fantasy drafts. He scored above 21 fantasy points in 14 of 17 games in 2024. That likely puts him in the conversation to go in the third round of drafts.

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels had arguably the greatest rookie quarterback season in NFL history. He led the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship, and his 891 rush yards broke the rookie record for a quarterback. Daniels was also a strong fantasy option throughout his first season. He finished as the QB5 in all fantasy formats.

Therefore, Daniels will probably be a top-3 quarterback selection in fantasy drafts next season. He averaged 21.5 fantasy points per game in his rookie campaign, and the Commanders added Deebo Samuel Sr. to this offense this offseason. That addition will only help the young quarterback grow even more as a passer in Year 2.

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Since taking over as the Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback in 2021, Jalen Hurts has been one of the more consistent fantasy options. He has finished as a top-3 fantasy quarterback in two of the past three seasons and has averaged over 21 fantasy points per game in each of those three campaigns. That makes him a strong quarterback selection early in drafts.

Hurts should find himself going somewhere between the third and fourth round of drafts next season. Given his recent fantasy success, he could be a great pick at this point in drafts. The Eagles quarterback has rushed for double-digit touchdowns in four straight years and will have a higher fantasy floor than most quarterbacks in 2025.

Potential Value Picks

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had some struggles in his rookie campaign. That led to him being more of a QB2 option in fantasy in his first year. However, fantasy managers should expect a huge breakout season for Williams in 2025, making him a potential value pick in 2025 drafts.

With Ben Johnson now the head coach, Williams is in a great spot heading into Year 2. Johnson has been known as an offensive guru and just helped Jared Goff finish as a top-7 fantasy quarterback in back-to-back seasons. Chicago also revamped its offensive line this offseason by acquiring Jonah Jackson, Joe Thuney, and Drew Dalman. So, the USC product could finish as a top-7 option in 2025.

Justin Fields, New York Jets

With Fields set to be the full-time starter in New York, he will be a sneaky QB1 option in drafts. The last time he started at least 15 games in a season was back with the Bears in 2022. During that year, he finished as the QB7 in fantasy and averaged 20.3 points per game. Even in his six starts with the Steelers last season, the 26-year-old averaged 19.1 fantasy points per game.

As a result, Fields will likely have QB1 potential in fantasy throughout the year. His rushing is always a major factor, and he could rush for 1,000 yards on the ground in 2025. Now, it remains to be seen where the new Jets quarterback will go in fantasy leagues, but chances are he will be undervalued in drafts.

Anthony Richardson, Indianapolis Colts

A lot went wrong for Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson in 2024. He was one of the bigger fantasy busts at the position and was eventually benched by the team in Week 9. Nonetheless, Richardson can be one of the better value picks in drafts next season, given his fantasy upside.

Some of that upside was on display once he regained the starting job in Week 11. He scored above 21 fantasy points in three of his final five starts and rushed for five touchdowns during that span.

Even with the team signing Daniel Jones in free agency, this will be Richardson's job to lose in 2025. Since he will likely be going outside the top 18 at the quarterback position next year, he will be a low-risk, high-reward selection.

Busts

Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes might be the best quarterback in the NFL, but he surely hasn't been one of the best fantasy options in recent years. Mahomes has finished outside the top seven at the quarterback position in back-to-back seasons and is coming off the worst fantasy campaign of his career in 2024. The two-time All-Pro finished as the QB11 in all fantasy formats.

It was a disastrous fantasy season for Mahomes last year, as he averaged a mere 18.4 fantasy points per game. However, since he is the best quarterback in the league, he will likely still be selected as a top-6 fantasy option in drafts. That's too high for a quarterback who doesn't run much or hasn't scored above 300 fantasy points in consecutive seasons.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

After a breakout campaign in 2023, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was a popular QB1 option heading into 2024 fantasy drafts. Love, though, was one of the more disappointing quarterback options a season ago. He finished as the QB17 and averaged just over 16 fantasy points per game. His 16.3 fantasy point average was fewer than Smith (16.5), Justin Herbert (17), and Tua Tagovailoa (17.1) last year.

Despite that, Love is going above all three of those quarterbacks currently in Underdog drafts with a QB13 ADP. That makes him overvalued heading into next year. He doesn't run much and only threw for over 230 yards in five of 15 games last season. Therefore, he could be a bust candidate in fantasy once again in 2025.
