St. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitcher Drew Rom (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing. Rom was feeling soreness in his left shoulder. Last summer, the southpaw underwent arthroscopic surgery on this shoulder. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but should expect the team to ease his workload, given his injury history. Rom was given a PRP injection and will rest for a few days before undergoing another evaluation. Rom made his MLB debut during the 2023 campaign and held an 8.02 ERA and a 2.08 WHIP across 33 2/3 innings. He tallied 32 punchouts but allowed walks at a hefty 11.2 percent rate. Rom was unable to throw during the entire 2024 season. Given this recent setback, Rom may face another extended absence during the start of the 2025 season.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerRead More News
