Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon (illness) was unable to practice on Wednesday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Spurgeon's status leading up to their game on Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings. Spurgeon will have several days to return to practice before this contest. The 35-year-old has been a strong contributor to their offensive attack on the blue line. Over his previous eight games, Spurgeon has tallied seven points (two goals, five helpers). During this stretch, he logged 15 blocked shots as well. Through 41 total games, Spurgeon has found the back of the net 14 times and added 20 helpers. Four of his points have come on the power-play.
