NFL Team Report Card: Final Post Super Bowl Grades for Every Team

With the 2024 NFL season in the books, it is time to hand out grades for each team. Read ahead to see the grades for each team of the 2024 regular season.

Arizona Cardinals - NFL, Logo, Stock

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals had high expectations after selecting top wide receiver prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. in the first round of the NFL Draft. While the team performed well at times, they finished with a modest 8-9 record and out of the playoffs. Their offense averaged the 11th-most yards per game, while their defense allowed the 12th-most yards per game.

Grade: C

Atlanta Falcons - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons were in the playoff picture into the playoff picture until the final week of the season but ultimately fell short. Their offense led the way through most of the season as they totaled the sixth-most yards per game. Much of this success was credited to standout running back Bijan Robinson. However, down the stretch, quarterback Kirk Cousins struggled and was eventually benched in favor of rookie Michael Penix Jr.

Grade: C

Baltimore Ravens - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Baltimore Ravens

Despite winning the AFC North, the Ravens fell short of their ultimate expectations. During the regular season, they were one of the best teams, posting a 12-5 record. Their offense was led by running back Derrick Henry, who ran for the second-most rushing yards in the sport. While they took care of business in the wild-card round, they lost to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round and failed to return to the AFC Championship Game.

Grade: A-

Buffalo Bills - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Buffalo Bills

Quarterback Josh Allen led the Bills to a 13-4 record en route to winning the MVP. The Buffalo offense averaged the second-most points per game, while their defense allowed the 11th-fewest points per game. However, the Bills once again fell short of playoff expectations as they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.

Grade: A-

Carolina Panthers - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers were in a rebuilding year under first-year head coach Dave Canales. They started off slow but began to find their footing late in the season. Their success was credited to the development of former first-overall pick Bryce Young. Over his final six games, Young tallied 15 TDs with just three INTs.

Grade: D+

Chicago Bears - NFL Stock Logo

Chicago Bears

The Bears had high expectations for the 2024 season as they selected one of the best quarterback prospects of recent history, Caleb Williams. Unfortunately, the Bears were unable to protect Williams, as he was sacked the most times in the league. In addition, the team parted ways with head coach Matt Eberflus halfway through the season. They finished with a 5-12 record, last in the NFL North.

Grade: D-

Cincinnati Bengals

Despite having one of the best offensive units in the sport, the Bengals fell one game short of qualifying for the postseason. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase led them to a 9-8 record. The team averaged a stellar 272.9 passing yards per game, which was the most in football. However, on the defensive side, they allowed the seventh-most points per game.

Grade: C+

CLEVELAND BROWNS LOGO STOCK

Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns took a significant step back after posting an 11-6 record in the 2023 season. In 2024, the Browns won just three games and were unable to find their footing at all. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was ineffective and eventually suffered a season-ending injury. Their defense also regressed as they allowed the fifth-most points per game.

Grade: F

DALLAS COWBOYS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Dallas Cowboys

Even though they were without their starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, and several key defensive players, such as Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs, the team remained competitive throughout the season. Head coach Mike McCarthy was able to keep this team afloat in the playoff picture until the final month. However, they had playoff aspirations and fell short of expectations.

Grade: C

Denver Broncos - NFL Logo Stock Image

Denver Broncos

After selecting Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, many through the Broncos were going to need time to develop their new franchise QB. However, Nix progressed very quickly and led them to a wild card and a 10-7 record. In addition, their defense was one of the best units in the sport, allowing the third-fewest points per game.

Grade: B+

DETROIT LIONS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions enjoyed an excellent regular season that was cut short much earlier than expected in the playoffs. After losing just two games in the regular season and holding the top seed in the NFC, the Lions had Super Bowl aspirations. During the regular season, their offense was unstoppable, scoring 33.2 points per game (the most in football). However, their playoff run ended in the divisional round when Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders marched into their building and pulled off the upset.

Grade: A-

GREEN BAY PACKERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers dealt with several injuries throughout the season but were still able to reach the playoffs as a wild card (11-6 record). Their playoff run did not last long, as they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening round. During the regular season, their offense averaged the fifth-most yards per game while their defense allowed the sixth-fewest yards per game.

Grade: B

Houston Texans - NFL Stock Image, Logo

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans won the AFC North with a 10-7 record. While their offense was not as productive as they would have hoped (they scored the 15th-most points per game), they dealt with numerous injuries, including several top pass catchers. In the postseason, they defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round but eventually fell short to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.

Grade: B+

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts hoped to take the next step forward with a healthy Anthony Richardson entering his second season but unfortunately fell short of expectations. The team finished with an 8-9 record and out of the playoff picture. Richardson began to find his footing late in the season but was benched for some time. If the team were to reach the playoffs, they would need their former first-round pick to live up to expectations.

Grade: D

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars won just four games during the regular season and were one of the worst teams in the sport. Their offense scored the seventh-fewest points per game, while their defense allowed the sixth-most points per game. Following the end of the regular season, the team parted ways with head coach Doug Pederson. Their lone bright spot was rookie wideout Brian Thomas Jr., who is shaping up to be a star at his position.

Grade: F

Kansas City Chiefs - NFL Stock Logo

Kansas City Chiefs

While they could not pull off the threepeat, the Kansas City Chiefs still enjoyed a very successful campaign. During the regular season, they posted a 15-2 record en route to earning the top seed in the conference. The Chiefs then defeated the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills en route to reaching the Super Bowl. However, they were quite outmatched in that game as the Eagles took care of business.

Grade: A

Las Vegas Raiders - NFL LOGO, STOCK

Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders finished the 2024 season with a 4-13 record. Their offense scored the fourth-fewest points per game, while their defense allowed the ninth-most points per game. At the end of the season, the team parted ways with head coach Antonio Pierce. The Raiders will look to kick-start their rebuild with the sixth-overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Grade: F

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Los Angeles Chargers

Jim Harbaugh’s first season back in the NFL was a success as he led the Chargers to a solid 11-6 record and a playoff birth. However, their playoff run was cut short as they lost to the Houston Texans in the opening round. During the regular season, their defense led the way, as they allowed the fewest points per game.

Grade: A

LOS ANGELES RAMS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Los Angeles Rams

Even with numerous injuries, the Los Angeles Rams were able to win the NFC West with a 10-7 record. Quarterback Matthew Stafford was without his top two wideouts for almost half of the season but was still able to keep the team competitive. The Rams also did very well in the draft, selecting Jared Verse, who won Defensive Rookie of the Year. They were also able to win a playoff game but fell short in the divisional round to the Eagles.

Grade: A-

MIAMI DOLPHINS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Miami Dolphins

While the Dolphins were without their starting quarterback for more than half of the season, the team was unable to return to the postseason. The offense took a significant step back, scoring the 11th-fewest points per game. The team finished with an underwhelming 8-9 record and could never find any momentum during the season.

Grade: D

MINNESOTA VIKINGS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings lost their rookie quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, to a torn meniscus before the regular season but were still able to finish with an impressive 14-3 record. While they could not win the NFC North, the Vikings were one of the best teams during the regular season. Sam Darnold turned his career around as he averaged an impressive 237.8 passing yards per game (sixth-most in the NFL). Their defense also allowed the fifth-fewest points per game.

Grade: A-

New England Patriots - NFL Logo Stock

New England Patriots

The Patriots were in a rebuilding year in 2024 and were on track to hold the top pick in the NFL Draft before winning their final game, which pushed them up to the No. 4 spot. The Patriots won just four games under head coach Jerod Mayo. Rookie QB Drake Maye showed flashes of upside at times but could not find much success, given the lack of talent around him. Their defense was also unimpressive, allowing the 11th-most points per game.

Grade: D

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints dealt with numerous injuries during the 2024 season, including to their quarterback Derek Carr and top wideouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, which derailed their campaign. The Saints finished with a 5-12 record. Their offense scored the ninth-fewest points per game. At the end of the season, the team parted ways with head coach Dennis Allen.

Grade: F

NEW YORK GIANTS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New York Giants

The New York Giants had their worst season under head coach Brian Daboll, as they won just three games. While rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was a bright spot, the rest of the offense was quite underwhelming, especially their QB play, as Daniel Jones was released midseason. Their defense was also below average as they allowed the 12th-most points per game.

Grade: D-

NEW YORK JETS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

New York Jets

With a healthy Aaron Rodgers under center, the New York Jets had playoff aspirations in 2024 but fell way short of expectations. The team finished with a 5-12 record. During the season, the team parted ways with head coach Robert Saleh. While Rodgers and the Jets showed flashes of potential at times, they were never consistent, as they averaged the eighth-fewest points per game.

Grade: D

Philadelphia Eagles - NFL, TEAM LOGO, STOCK

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles were named Super Bowl Champions and are the lone team with an A+ grade on this list. During the regular season, superstar running back Saquon Barkley led their offense, who ran for over 2,000 yards. Their defense was also elite, as they allowed the fewest yards per game and the second-fewest points per game.

Grade: A+

PITTSBURGH STEELERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to finish with a non-losing record once again and qualify for the playoffs. However, their postseason run was cut short in the opening round as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens. During the regular season, their defense allowed the eighth-fewest points per game, while their offense scored the 16th-most points per game.

Grade: B

San Francisco 49ers - Niners NFL Logo Stock

San Francisco 49ers

Injuries derailed the 49ers’ 2024 season. They lost star running back Christian McCaffrey and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk for most of the season. On the defensive side, edge rushers Joey Bosa and Dre Greenlaw also missed significant time. However, quarterback Brock Purdy was still quite efficient as he led the San Franciso offense to average the fourth-most yards per game. Expect a significant bounce back for them in 2025.

Grade: C-

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks missed the playoffs due to a tiebreaker with the Los Angeles Rams. However, they finished with a solid 10-7 record under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald. Quarterback Geno Smith threw for a career-high in passing yards. This success was credited to sophomore wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who enjoyed a breakout campaign. On defense, they allowed the 12th-fewest points per game.

Grade: B

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers boasted one of the best offensive units in the sport in 2024. Led by Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay averaged the third-most yards per game and fourth-most points per game. On defense, they finished near the middle of the pack, allowing the 16th-most points per game. However, their playoff bid was cut short as they lost to the Washington C0mmanders in the opening round.

Grade: B+

TENNESSEE TITANS LOGO - NFL, STOCK

Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans finished with a 3-14 record and held the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They alternated quarterbacks throughout the season but could never find any momentum. They had the third-lowest turnover differential and scored the sixth-fewest points per game. On the defensive side of the game, they allowed the third-most points per game.

Grade: F

Washington Commanders - NFL Logo Stock

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders surpassed all expectations. During Dan Quinn’s first season, the Commanders were able to post an impressive 12-5 record after winning just four games the previous season. Rookie QB Jayden Daniels immediately became a star in the league as he led them to the NFC Championship game. While they fell short in that contest, they are a budding team with a superstar under center.
