New York Islanders center Brock Nelson scored twice in their victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday evening. Nelson tallied both of his goals in the second frame. First, he found the back of the net on a wrist shot in the slot off a pass from Maxim Tsyplakov and Adam Pelech. Later in the period, Nelson got on the scoresheet shorthanded on a breakaway after stealing the puck from Cale Makar. Nelson finished the game with five total shots, two blocks, and a +3 rating.
