Denny Hamlin will start this week's Go Bowling at the Glen at Watkins Glen International from the 22nd position on Sunday. This matches Hamlin's 2022 Cup start at Watkins Glen, where he went on to finish 20th and score some slight positive Place Differential. In 17 starts at the site, Hamlin has nine top-10 finishes and collected his only career Cup Series road course win there in 2016. This includes four top-5 finishes in the previous six Cup events at WGI, including a runner-up finish in last year's race. Through 27 races this season, Hamlin has three wins and 12 top-10 finishes. Hamlin's top finish on a road course in 2024 was 14th at COTA. In practice, Hamlin ranked 30th in overall lap averages but was among the Top 10 fastest in five, 10, and 15 consecutive lap averages.
