Saquon Barkley finished as the RB13 in 2023, an extraordinary feat for a running back on a putrid Giants' offense.
That won't happen in 2024. Devin Singletary takes over for Barkley, and while he'll be the backfield leader, he'll have some company. Rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. will take some off his plate.
The rest of the offense, however, may be just as bad. First-round wide receiver Malik Nabers will help, but this still projects to be a bottom-dweller unit. How does that impact the running backs in fantasy football? Let's break it down.

Who is the New York Giants RB1?
It didn't take long for Tyrone Tracy Jr. to unseat Eric Gray in the Giants' running back room. He'll have to do a lot more to overtake Devin Singletary.
The fifth-round rookie is a relative newbie to the position. He began playing running back in his final season at Purdue. He logged 120 carries in his two years in West Lafayette.
When he does touch the ball, good things happen. 7.2 yards per carry at Purdue attracted the Giants to the soon-to-be 25-year-old rookie.
Tyrone Tracy converted to RB in 2023. In his first year as an RB, Tracy's avoided tackle rate was 40.4%, a 99th percentile finish among 1.1k RBs.

That said, Singletary has plenty of more experience in the backfield and was brought in during the offseason to handle the bulk of the work. He eclipsed 200 carries for the first time in his career last season in Houston. Expect similar numbers, with Tracy earning the change-of-pace touches.
Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
Singletary will cost fantasy managers an eighth-round pick, which is decent value for a Zero or Hero-RB strategy, but not a high-priority add. Brian Robinson Jr., Jaylen Warren, and Javonte Williams are all going in the same range.

Tracy is the end-of-draft dart throw, ala fellow rookies Jaylen Wright, Ray Davis, Braelon Allen, and more. Watching and seeing how the opportunities shake out is a free gamble. Plus, if Singletary were to suffer an injury, Tracy would be in line to get 15+ touches per game.
