Which NFL Teams Have Never Won A Super Bowl? (Updated 2024)

Taking a look at the list of all NFL teams which have not won a single Super Bowl in the history of their franchise heading into 2024/2025 NFL season.

Winning a Super Bowl is the ultimate prize for all NFL teams. Each year, the players, coaches, and front offices give their best efforts to help the franchise win a Super Bowl.

However, there have been various NFL franchises that have not won a single Super Bowl. Many have had the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl, but some teams have not even won their conferences yet.

In this article, I'll list all the teams that have not won a Super Bowl yet, along with the teams that have been the most successful including the defending Super Bowl champions, i.e. the Kansas City Chiefs.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

NFL Teams With No Super Bowl Wins

Here is the full list of teams that have not yet won a Super Bowl:

  1. Arizona Cardinals
  2. Atlanta Falcons
  3. Buffalo Bills
  4. Carolina Panthers
  5. Cincinnati Bengals
  6. Cleveland Browns
  7. Detroit Lions
  8. Houston Texans
  9. Jacksonville Jaguars
  10. Los Angeles Chargers
  11. Minnesota Vikings
  12. Tennessee Titans

Among these teams, the Cincinnati Bengals were the latest one to come close to winning their first Super Bowl. Unfortunately, they lost to the Los Angeles Rams two years ago, but with Joe Burrow as their quarterback, the AFC North franchise will be a Super Bowl contender for years to come.

The Buffalo Bills and the Minnesota Vikings have had the most Super Bowl appearances (four) without a win. However, based on what we have seen from Josh Allen so far, it will be hard to believe that he will end his career without winning a Super Bowl with the Bills.

The Lions, Texans, and Jaguars are the only three teams in the history of the NFL that have not made the Super Bowl. Detroit came close to playing in their first Super Bowl last season, but the San Francisco 49ers erased a 17-point deficit and defeated them 34-31.

NFL Teams With Most Super Bowl Wins

While the teams mentioned above have not won a Super Bowl yet, some other teams have won multiple Super Bowls. Here's the list of teams that have won the most Super Bowls:

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers: Six
  2. New England Patriots: Six
  3. Dallas Cowboys: Five
  4. San Francisco 49ers: Five
  5. Green Bay Packers: Four
  6. Kansas City Chiefs: Four
  7. New York Giants: Four

The Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls and are the favorites to win it again. Patrick Mahomes has already cemented his place among the best players to ever play in the NFL, and by the time his career finishes, the Chiefs could have the most Super Bowls among all teams.
