The Chicago White Sox selected University of Arkansas left-handed pitcher Hagen Smith with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Smith struck out 161 batters in 84 innings last year at Arkansas, making him one of the most intriguing arms in the draft. The 20-year-old was 9-2 last season with a 2.04 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. His fastball sits in the mid to high 90s, and the 20-year-old also struck out 17 batters in a game versus Oregon State.
