Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell ended this week's Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway from the 36th position despite having one of the dominant cars of the day. Starting from the third position, Bell quickly made it past Josh Berry for second, where he would remain until the first round of green flag pit stops. Bell used this pit cycle to get ahead of Denny Hamlin, drive his way up to first, and go on to win stage one. In the second stage, Bell remained strong, leading most of the race until it was delayed due to rain on lap 137. When the race resumed, Bell continued his dominance and won the second stage. In the final stage, the No. 20 Toyota driver competed for the win further, even among several cautions for incidents until a caution on lap 218 for Chase Elliott spinning. Other drivers used this caution to gain track position against Bell, and he ran in the middle of the pack until he crashed into the wall on lap 227. The damage was too much for the No. 20 team to recover, and Bell scored his fourth DNF of the season. With the Cup Series heading to Chicago next, Bell will look to improve upon his finish of 18th in last year's event at the site.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
