Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin (illness) will not play in Friday's matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes. Sandin is the latest NHLer who has caught the nasty bug that has been spreading around the league for the last month or so, and it will force him to miss at least one game. The timing is tough for Sandin, who had just begun to get going, notching five points (five assists) in his last five games. He was a fairly popular waiver wire add this week with the Capitals playing four off-night games, so fantasy managers who have him may have to pivot elsewhere for the weekend. --Matt Garon - RotoBaller
