2023 NFL QB Power Rankings: All 32 Starting Quarterbacks After Week 12

Jalen Hurts - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, Draft Sleepers

Thanksgiving week started off with a surprising quarterback performance from Jordan Love in Detroit, an expected quarterback dominance from Dak Prescott, and two average to below-average quarterback performances in the night game. The real treat from a quarterback perspective came on Sunday afternoon in the Eagles' thrilling overtime win against Buffalo, as Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen battled back and forth and did not disappoint fantasy managers.

The common theme of poor quarterback play that we have been seeing this year continued into Monday night, as Joshua Dobbs threw for four interceptions and Chicago snuck out a win despite not scoring a single touchdown.

How will quarterback play look heading into the thick of the season? Week 13 has some appointment television, from Thursday night's Seattle-Dallas game to Sunday's Houston-Denver and San Francisco-Philadelphia matchups. Let's dive into this week's RotoBaller quarterback power rankings from the top of the league to the bottom.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers won two writing awards and received 12 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. A big congrats to our very own Byron Lindeque (Golf) and Jordan McAbee (NASCAR) for both winning Writer Of The Year awards! Be sure to follow RotoBaller's analysis and advice all year long, and win more. Win More With RotoBaller!

1. Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts does it again! Not even a full week after leading Philadelphia to a comeback win over Kansas City, Hurts orchestrated a game-tying field goal drive at the end of regulation against Buffalo and turned around to put together a game-winning touchdown drive capped off by a 12-yard dagger touchdown run. Hurts fought adversity, overcoming a poor start to maintain the NFL’s best record at 10-1 in what could be the NFL’s game of the year to this point.

2. Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes quickly turned a 14-0 deficit into a 31-17 win in Las Vegas on Sunday. Mahomes balled out, completing 27-of-34 passes for 298 yards and two touchdowns in the win to bring Kansas City to an 8-3 record on the season. The Chiefs will be back in action on Sunday night in Lambeau.

3. Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

Following a dominant Thanksgiving performance in which he completed 22-of-32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns, Dak Prescott rises to third in the RotoBaller quarterback power rankings. Prescott has been on a tear since Week 7’s bye week, albeit against lesser opponents, and will be back in action Thursday night against Seattle in an attempt to continue the hot streak.

4. C.J. Stroud - Houston Texans

Despite narrowly falling 24-21 to Jacksonville, C.J. Stroud still managed to put up a strong statistical performance. The issue in this game was Houston’s lack of pass protection, as Stroud was sacked four times for a total loss of 43 yards. Stroud completed 26-of-36 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, falling to a 6-5 record. Every game matters in the tight AFC playoff race, and Stroud will be back in action on Sunday against the red-hot Denver Broncos.

5. Trevor Lawrence - Jacksonville Jaguars

Speaking of hot streaks, Trevor Lawrence is on one of his own. One week after torching Tennessee, Lawrence completed 23-of-38 passes for 364 yards with a touchdown and an interception along with a rushing touchdown in the 24-21 win over Houston. The win gave Jacksonville a comfortable 2-game lead in the AFC South, placing them firmly in the playoff picture. Next up for Lawrence is a beaten-up Cincinnati team on Monday night.

6. Tua Tagovailoa - Miami Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa was far from perfect on Black Friday, throwing for his second-lowest yardage total of the season, but still managed to comfortably lead Miami to a win over a feisty divisional rival in the New York Jets. Tagovailoa threw for two interceptions in the 34-13 win but remains second in passing yards per game behind only C.J. Stroud. Tagovailoa will have an opportunity to light up a porous Washington secondary on Sunday.

7. Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson did not have his best game through the air or on the ground on Sunday night in the 20-10 win over the Chargers, but the former MVP did enough to deliver another win for the AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens. Jackson ran for 39 yards on 11 carries while completing 18-of-32 passes for 177 yards with a touchdown. Baltimore gets the benefit of a late bye week, allowing the team to rest up this week prior to a game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14.

8. Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen did everything in his power to bring a win home from Philly, but ultimately his 29-for-51, 339-yard, two-touchdown performance, along with 81 rushing yards and two touchdowns just was not enough as the Eagles edged out a win in overtime. Allen did throw an interception in the game, extending his streak to eight straight games in which he has thrown an interception. Buffalo is now 6-6 with a gauntlet over the last five weeks of the season after the bye, including Kansas City, Dallas, Los Angeles (Chargers), and Miami.

9. Brock Purdy - San Francisco 49ers

It wasn’t a perfect Thanksgiving night game for the young San Francisco quarterback, but Brock Purdy led the 49ers to a comfortable 31-13 win over Seattle. Purdy completed 21-of-30 passes for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win. All eyes will be on the 23-year-old in America’s Game of the Week as San Francisco attempts to take down Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

10. Russell Wilson - Denver Broncos

Is Russell Wilson in the top 10? Why not?! Signs of Seattle’s DangeRuss are growing stronger each week, as Denver is now on a five-game winning streak and right back in the thick of the playoff race. Wilson completed 13-of-22 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown while scrambling for 34 yards and a score in Sunday’s win over Cleveland. Next week, Russ takes on the Texans in an appointment television game (who would have thought?). The winner inches closer to a playoff berth while the loser takes a step back. Grab your popcorn.

11. Jared Goff - Detroit Lions

He’s been having an amazing season, but Jared Goff has had a shaky past two weeks in which he has turned the ball over a combined six times. Goff’s turnovers on Thanksgiving ultimately cost Detroit a game they should have won against the Green Bay Packers, but despite the blunders, the Lions still hold a firm grasp on the NFC North. Goff can bounce back in New Orleans this Sunday against a team in desperate need of a win.

12. Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford led the Rams to a convincing 37-14 win over Arizona on Sunday in which he completed 25-of-33 passes for 229 yards with four touchdowns and an interception. The returns of Kyren Williams and Cooper Kupp helped elevate Los Angeles’ offense to a level they had been missing since early on in the season, and Stafford now has the team sitting at 5-6 and on the cusp of the playoff hunt.

13. Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ offense was not humming on Sunday night against Baltimore, as they only put up 10 points in the defeat to fall to 4-7 and the cellar of the AFC West. Herbert completed 29-of-44 passes for 217 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The fourth-year quarterback also ran for 47 yards, opening up the offense with his legs for a second straight week. While the lack of healthy pass catchers has hindered Herbert’s game, he also just has not been playing his best football as of late, and the Chargers are on the brink of missing the playoffs.

14. Kyler Murray - Arizona Cardinals

While Kyler Murray has added a spark to Arizona’s offense since returning from his ACL injury, it has not translated into many wins for the tanking Cardinals. Murray completed 27-of-45 passes for 256 yards and a score while also converting a two-yard rushing touchdown on Sunday in the 37-14 loss to the Rams. Murray’s next opportunity for a win comes next Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

15. Sam Howell - Washington Commanders

Thanksgiving was a tough day for the Washington Commanders, who fell 45-10 to Dallas and promptly let defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio walk. As for the offense, at least passing yards are up. Sam Howell leads the NFL with 3,339 yards, more than likely buying himself more time as a starting quarterback in this league. Howell completed 28-of-44 passes for 300 yards with an interception in the blowout loss and Washington promptly fell to 4-8 on the season. Howell and the Commanders will be back in action Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

16. Geno Smith - Seattle Seahawks

Geno Smith struggled, as many quarterbacks do, against the 49ers defense on Thanksgiving night. Smith completed 18-of-27 passes for 180 yards with an interception in the loss. The road ahead does not look any less bumpy as Seattle plays Dallas, San Francisco, and Philadelphia in the next three. Losing all three against the NFC’s three best teams would put Seattle’s playoff spot in jeopardy. Who’s writing Geno off?

17. Justin Fields - Chicago Bears

Justin Fields led the Chicago Bears to their first NFC North victory under Matt Eberflus on Monday night. Even more impressive, Chicago didn’t score a single touchdown in the 12-10 win. Fields completed 27-of-37 passes for 217 yards while adding 59 rushing yards on 12 carries. He will have the opportunity to win back-to-back games against NFC North opponents after the upcoming bye week with a rematch against Detroit on December 10th.

18. Jordan Love - Green Bay Packers

Just when we thought the Packers were done for and Jordan Love’s tenure as Green Bay’s starting quarterback was over, the young signal caller strung together back-to-back wins and strong passing performances (5 TDs, 0 INTs) against competent opponents. Green Bay’s Thanksgiving win may not only have kept the season on life support but also saved another season for Jordan Love. Love completed 22-of-32 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the upset win over Detroit.

19. Gardner Minshew II - Indianapolis Colts

The bumpy train ride that is the Gardner Minshew experience took another turn on Sunday, as Indianapolis narrowly defeated Tampa Bay 27-20 to keep postseason hopes afloat. As it stands today, the Colts would be in the playoffs as the 7-seed. Minshew was less than stellar in the win, completing 24-of-41 passes for 251 yards and an interception, but he game-managed his way to a huge win.

20. Baker Mayfield - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield showcased his grit on Sunday, battling through an ankle injury to stay in the game en route to a 20-for-30 passing performance for 199 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, but fell short in a 27-20 loss to the Colts. Mayfield has shown he belongs in the league with his performance in Tampa this season, but the journeyman may continue journeying around the league beyond this year with the Buccaneers at 4-7.

21. Joshua Dobbs - Minnesota Vikings

Joshua Dobbs’ magic appears to have run out, as the quarterback threw four interceptions on Monday in the 12-10 loss to the Chicago Bears. Dobbs was off all night, completing 22-of-32 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown along with the four turnovers. Kevin O’Connell stated that the Vikings will be evaluating the quarterback position during Week 13’s bye week following Dobbs’ Monday night stinker. Behind him on the depth chart are veteran Nick Mullens and rookie Jaren Hall, who has started one game this season but exited early with a concussion.

22. Tommy Devito - New York Giants

The rookie sensation, the Italian stallion, whatever you want to call him - Tommy Devito has thoroughly surprised. While his two wins have come against two teams trending in the wrong direction, DeVito has not thrown an interception in his last two starts and was efficient yet again on Sunday in the 10-7 win over New England. DeVito completed 17-of-25 passes for 191 yards and a score en route to his second straight win under center for New York. The Giants are on bye this weekend before returning to take on the Packers in Week 14.

23. Kenny Pickett - Pittsburgh Steelers

Is Kenny Pickett good without Matt Canada manning the offense? You be the judge. Pickett completed 24-of-33 passes for 278 yards in a 16-10 win over the Bengals in which Pittsburgh mustered over 400 offensive yards for the first time in 59 games. Pittsburgh is now 7-4 and in the thick of the AFC playoff race.

24. Will Levis - Tennessee Titans

Will Levis narrowly outplayed fellow rookie Bryce Young in a 17-10 win for Tennessee on Sunday. Levis completed 18-of-28 passes for 185 yards, doing enough to manage the Titans to their fourth win of the season. This is a rebuilding team, and Levis has six more games to show that he is the quarterback that they should be building around for the future.

25. Derek Carr - New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr has struggled through some poor play and injuries this season, and injuries to Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Michael Thomas are not helping his case. Carr and the Saints fell 24-15 to Atlanta in what felt like a must-win game for both sides. While he did throw for 304 yards, Carr did not pass for a  touchdown and threw an interception in the loss.

26. Dorian Thompson-Robinson - Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was playing a solid game, keeping Cleveland alive against Denver, when he was knocked out with a concussion and ceded the job to P.J. Walker. Walker struggled, meaning Thompson-Robinson will likely regain his starter status once he is able to return from his concussion. The rookie completed 14-of-29 passes for 134 yards with a touchdown and scrambled for 21 yards prior to the injury.

27. Aidan O'Connell - Las Vegas Raiders

Aidan O’Connell had the Raiders out to a 14-0 lead against Kansas City prior to crumbling in a 31-17 loss but played some solid football under center for Las Vegas. The rookie out of Purdue completed 23-of-33 passes for 248 yards and a score in the loss and will take the Raiders into the bye week at 5-7.

28. Desmond Ridder - Atlanta Falcons

Desmond Ridder’s return as the Falcons’ starting quarterback was not pretty, but he managed to win yet another home game as Atlanta topped New Orleans 24-15. Ridder completed 13-of-21 passes for 168 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Locked in as Atlanta’s starting quarterback for the rest of the season, barring injury, Ridder will take on a tough Jets defense next Sunday.

29. Bryce Young - Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young’s rookie season has been a disaster, and now Carolina is out of a head coach as Frank Reich has been fired after the brutal 1-10 start. Young completed 18-of-31 passes for 194 yards in the loss to Tennessee and will have opportunities against Tampa Bay (2 times), New Orleans, Atlanta, Green Bay, and Jacksonville to win another game in his rookie season.

30. Jake Browning - Cincinnati Bengals

Jake Browning’s first career start resulted in a 16-10 loss to Pittsburgh, severely hampering Cincinnati’s playoff hopes. The 27-year-old quarterback completed 19-of-26 passes for 227 yards with two interceptions in the loss. He will be back in action on Monday in prime time against a surging Jaguars team.

31. Bailey Zappe - New England Patriots

Bailey Zappe replaced Mac Jones in the second half of New England’s Week 12 loss to the Giants, immediately leading the Patriots on their only touchdown drive of the game. Zappe is by no means entrenched as the starter going forward, as he completed 9-of-14 passes for 54 yards with an interception, but Jones was benched for a reason (two first half interceptions). Safe to say New England will be in the quarterback market this offseason.

32. Tim Boyle - New York Jets

Tim Boyle struggled on Black Friday against the Miami Dolphins, completing 27-of-38 passes for 179 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. Boyle has already been announced as the starter for Sunday’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, but rumors are heating up regarding a potential Aaron Rodgers return. That being said, the target return date is Week 16 so therefore Boyle still has three games to attempt to keep the Jets (4-7) afloat.
