Daniel Hemric, the 2021 Xfinity Series Champion, will be back in the NASCAR Cup Series for the 2024 season, as it was announced that he will be driving the No. 31 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing next year. He will be taking over that car from Justin Haley, who will be moving to Rick Ware Racing. Hemric previously raced full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series during the 2019 season, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing. He had an average finish of 22.5 that year with just one top-five and two top-10 finishes in 36 total starts. This season, Justin Haley has an average finish of 20.6 along with one top-five and five top-10 finishes (through 28 races) in the No. 31 Chevrolet that Hemric will be racing next year. We will have to wait and see whether this will be an upgrade for Kaulig Racing or not.--Jordan McAbee
