Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanifin is open to signing an extension with the team. Hanifin's future has been up in the air after it was reported in the offseason that he isn't expected to extend his contract. However, it's now been clarified that the 26-year-old simply didn't want to re-sign over the summer and wants to see how the 2023-24 campaign pans out before committing himself to a new deal. Hanifin is set to become an unrestricted free agent if an agreement can't be found. The American blue-liner has spent the last five seasons in Calgary, producing 156 points (31 goals, 125 assists) in 359 games with 702 shots on goal and 425 blocks. His role has grown each year and Rasmus Andersson was the only skater on the team to average more ice time than Hanifin in 2022-23.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
