Fantasy Football Injury Reports For Week 1 (Sunday Morning Updates): Mark Andrews, Jerry Jeudy, Darren Waller, Romeo Doubs, George Kittle, and more

Jerry Jeudy - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Fantasy football injury updates and injury reports for RB, WR, TE for Week 1 (2023), as of 9/10, including Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, Jerry Jeudy, and more.

Fantasy managers have been forced to be on their toes as the 2023 NFL season gets underway, as players across the league have been dealing with a high number of injuries ahead of Week 1. Our injury updates and reports for Week 1 as of Sunday, September 10, 2023, will give you the latest updates on key fantasy football assets.

While Week 1 injury reports are usually relatively "clean", the days leading up to the 2023 NFL season have been packed with injury news on notable fantasy football players such as Mark Andrews, Jerry Jeudy, Darren Waller and more. These are in addition to players that were already ruled out for Week 1 several days ago such as Travis Kelce, Christian Watson, and Cooper Kupp.

To keep close tabs on all of the news across the NFL, make sure to favorite or bookmark the fantasy football player news page, or download the free RotoBaller fantasy football mobile app with push notification alerts on all the latest news. Let's look at the updates for some wide receivers and see whether they may play in Week 1.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Mark Andrews Injury Update

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (quadriceps) isn't expected to play on Sunday against the Texans. The veteran has recently dealt with a quad injury, so Lamar Jackson won't have his No. 1 target to start the year.

Of course, the question now is if Andrews will be healthy for the Week 2 AFC North meeting with the Bengals. But as far as Week 1 is concerned, Isaiah Likely could be a sneaky fantasy option in deeper formats. At the same time, DFS participants looking for value may also look in Likely's direction.

Darren Waller Injury Update

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) is expected to suit up versus the Dallas Cowboys despite being listed as questionable, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Waller was a late addition to the injury report this past week but is still expected to be active for the season opener as he makes his Giants debut. The 30-year-old should be viewed as a mid-range TE1 option and the primary pass-catcher in New York's offense.

Jerry Jeudy Injury Update

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (hamstring), who had been listed as questionable, is expected to be inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

While Jeudy's injury designation left the door open for him to play, his being healthy in time for kickoff seemed unrealistic. Indeed, he'll sit out this contest while Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. lead the wide receiver corps. Both players can be started in deeper leagues.

George Kittle Injury Update

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (groin) is expected to suit up Sunday despite being listed as questionable, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 29-year-old is arguably the league's second-best (and most athletic) tight end when healthy, so although he hasn't played a full season since 2018, the 49ers must be thrilled that he'll be on the field for this weekend's season opener. Fantasy managers should view Kittle as a locked-and-loaded high-end TE1.

Romeo Doubs Injury Update

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs (hamstring) is expected to be active for Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears. However, he will likely have a snap count, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

We don't know just how limited Doubs' role will be, but it's enough to pivot away from starting him in Week 1 fantasy lineups. With Christian Watson (hamstring) out, Doubs, Samori Toure, and Dontayvion Wicks will operate as Green Bay's top wide receivers.

DeVante Parker Injury Update

New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker (knee) isn't anticipated to suit up for the regular-season opener versus the Eagles. The 30-year-old wideout has battled a knee injury and has held a questionable tag heading into this one.

However, it appears fantasy managers will now be awaiting an update regarding Parker's availability for Week 2 against the Dolphins, his former team. Nevertheless, JuJu Smith-Schuster may be the only reliable pass-catcher on the Patriots' roster on Sunday, although Kendrick Bourne could see a slight uptick in attention from Mac Jones against a potent Eagles defense.

Rhamondre Stevenson Injury Update

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (illness) is anticipated to be in uniform on Sunday versus the Eagles. Despite holding a questionable tag heading into this contest because of the stomach bug, the 25-year-old should be out there for the regular-season opener.

With Ezekiel Elliott now on the roster, fantasy managers have questions regarding how the workload will be divided. On top of that, the Philadelphia defense is expected to cause a lot of problems for teams around the NFL this season, meaning Stevenson is hard to trust in Week 1.

Marquise Brown Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (hamstring) is expected to be on the field for the regular-season opener versus the Commanders. The 26-year-old wideout has battled a hamstring issue, so he had a questionable tag heading into Week 1.

However, with quarterback Joshua Dobbs under center, nobody knows how the Arizona offense will look, especially against a solid Commanders defense, meaning fantasy managers may want to consider other options at the position.

Zach Ertz Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals tight end Zach Ertz (knee) had been listed as questionable but is expected to play in Week 1 against the Washington Commanders, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The 32-year-old is looking to play in his first game since Week 10 last season when he tore his left ACL. Ertz isn't quite on the fantasy radar, especially with Trey McBride in the fold, but he could earn some targets if Joshua Dobbs needs a security blanket to whom he can check down.

Zack Moss Injury Update

The Indianapolis Colts downgraded running back Zack Moss to doubtful in the final version of their Week 1 injury report. Many were hopeful Moss would recover from a broken forearm sustained during the Colts' camp ahead of the season opener, but it looks as though he'll miss at least one week with the injury.

With Jonathan Taylor on PUP and Moss on the shelf, Indy will turn to Deon Jackson and Evan Hull in the backfield against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1. Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson will also be a rushing threat for the Colts.

Adam Thielen Injury Update

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (ankle) is expected to play on Sunday against the Falcons. The veteran practiced in a limited fashion on Friday after sitting out Thursday's session. However, it appears Thielen will debut for his new team in Week 1.

With DJ Chark Jr. (hamstring) out, the Panthers will need Thielen on the field. But he could see a reduced workload due to his ailment, meaning he's a risky fantasy option for the regular-season opener.
