WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces)  - vs. ATL - DK: $11,500, FD: 9,300

Wilson's hot streak continued last time out, as she played 31 minutes in the team's win over the Mystics. She was 17-for-25 from the floor with 40 points in the victory and also added 12 rebounds, one assist, one block, and two steals.

That double-double was Wilson's third in three games. She's been arguably the WNBA's best player on both sides of the ball this season and that should continue on Sunday against an Atlanta team that allows the third-most points per game in the W.

When these teams met at the beginning of the month, Wilson had 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds while adding one assist, one block, and two steals.

NaLyssa Smith (Indiana Fever)  - vs. NY - DK: $8,200, FD: $6,800

After missing a month with a foot injury, Smith returned two games ago. She's come off the bench in both games back, but has put up good numbers in her limited minutes.

Last time out against the Lynx, Smith had 12 points on 6-for-11 shooting along with seven rebounds and one assist. Her minutes should continue to scale up going forward. This matchup against the Liberty isn't great, but Smith did have 16 points and 12 rebounds when these teams met back in May.

Brianna Turner (Phoenix Mercury)  - @ SEA - DK: $6,700, FD: $5,600

Brianna Turner has never really been much of a scorer. It's something you have to live with in fantasy with her—she's not going to score in double figures.

But there has been a little scoring upside lately, as she's scored six, four, and six points in her last three games. That might not sound like much, but coupled with her contribution in other areas, it's given her some fantasy upside.

Last game, Turner had six points on 3-for-4 shooting while also adding four rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal. That ended a streak of five games in a row with at least five rebounds, and her third game in a row with a block.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream)  - @ LV - DK: $10,200, FD:  $7,300

Howard shot under 40% for the fourth time in the last five games last time out, continuing a worrisome trend for the second-year guard. But that's probably more concerning in real life than it is in DFS, because missed shots don't really hurt you in fantasy. Her volume still allowed her to score 17 points in the game, and she also added five rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Last season's Rookie of the Year has a higher ceiling than most guards because of how many shots she takes, and she's drained at least three three-pointers in three consecutive games.

She did struggle notably the last time she faced the Aces though, going 3-for-10 with just six points. But she boosted her value by adding six rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal in that one, and she had 15 points in the first meeting of the teams. Some risk here, but I expect she gets enough opportunities to mitigate that risk.

Jordan Horston (Seattle Storm)  - vs. PHO - DK: $7,500, FD: $4,900

The Gabby Williams injury moved Horston into the starting lineup last game, and she played 27 minutes against the Dream. She struggled with her shot, going 1-for-7 with just four points, but she added value in other ways, grabbing eight rebounds while also posting two assists, one block, and three steals.

Horston's such an active player when she's on the floor, so if she gets 20-plus minutes, she's going to give you rebounds and steals. The only concern is how much scoring you get. But I expect if she gets seven field goal attempts again on Sunday, she'll make more than one of them. This is a player who in mid-July scored in double figures in three straight games—give her opportunities and she can deliver.

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (Washington Mystics)  - vs. CHI  - DK: $5,800, FD: $4,800

Natasha Cloud is questionable for this game after hurting her ankle Friday against the Aces. If she's sidelined, we should see a lot of Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.

SWK is already getting minutes, playing 30-plus of them in nine straight games. But she hasn't done a ton on offense, scoring in double figures in just two of the last five games. But if Cloud's sidelined, the Mystics will have to get the ball in Walker-Kimbrough's hands more, upping her scoring and assist upside.
