Clay Holmes Grabs Save No. 14 On Wednesday
10 months agoNew York Yankees reliever Clay Holmes completed his 14th save of the season on Wednesday when his team defeated the New York Mets 3-1. He tossed one inning of work, allowing no baserunners and striking out one. Holmes has been fantastic this year, posting a 2.21 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 29.9% strikeout rate over 40 2/3 innings. Though he briefly lost the closer role in May to fellow righty Michael King, the 30-year-old has registered nine saves since the beginning of June, and fantasy managers should be rostering him in all formats.
