Though it was much closer than the three previous first-round knockout victories, Jeremiah Wells remained perfect in the UFC (4-0) after a split-decision victory over Matthew Semelsberger to open up Saturday's main card of action. Rocked in the first and second rounds, Wells remained composed and earned takedowns to change the pace of the bout. In 15 minutes of action, Wells tallied 36 significant strikes (86 total strikes) and six takedowns. The ground game proved to be the difference, with Semelsberger scoring no takedowns and Wells locking up over 11 minutes of control time.--Matt Bricker
