Ryan Blaney appeared quick at practice on Saturday. Then, it came to qualifying. That was when the Team Penske driver had issues. He immediately flat spotted his tires going into turn 1 on his qualifying lap. As a result, Blaney ended up almost 11 seconds off the pole position time of William Byron.
