DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 1/17/23 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

Armando Bacot CBB DFS ncaa tournament daily fantasy college basketball march madness

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 1/17/23. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

We have 11 games on tap for our college basketball tournaments today. The early bird is in Columbia with the Rebels coming to town to take on the Gamecocks. Most of the action is at 7 pm with Tennessee heading into StarkVegas. Creighton header over to Indy to take on Butler. Boston College heads down Tobacco Road to Chapel Hill. Florida State heads to Indiana to take on the Irish. The Pack head down to Hot-lanta to take on the Wreck. Houston heads to Tulane to ride the Wave.

We end the 7 pm action with the Sunflower Showdown living up to its name. An hour later, we have Texas heading to Hilton Coliseum in Ames. We close out a half-hour later with the Tide heading up to Nashville to take on Vandy and Penn State heading to Madison. This is going to be a great one!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/17/23, starting at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Matthew Cleveland, Florida State ($9,000)

Cleveland went from being a role player to taking the team over when Cam'Ron Fletcher went down. I don't think Clevland's role changes even when Fletcher returns. Cleveland has seven consecutive double-doubles. I would say he has the highest floor amongst the elite guard options tonight. There are a few with higher ceilings, but Cleveland is the one that is most likely to give us the return we're looking for at this price.

Jaylen Forbes, Tulane ($8,100)

Tulane is one of the faster-paced teams in the country right now and it has helped boost Forbes' scoring totals. He has scored 141 points in the last six games. That's real points, not including his very good peripheral stats. I don't expect Forbes to keep up that torrid pace against a strong Houston team, but the peripherals are high enough that he can still hit 35 DraftKings points for the sixth consecutive game.

Trey Alexander, Creighton ($6,600)

Alexander exploded for 32 points against DePaul on Christmas Day and has carried that momentum into the new year. Alexander has scored in double figures in all four games since and packed the stat sheet in all but the game against UConn. Alexander has shot very well, also with the exception of the UConn game. He still put up good numbers in that game, but the performances against Providence and Xavier have Alexander on my radar. He's knocking down a lot of shots and getting to the line consistently, not to mention strong defensive numbers. I like the upside here.

Deivon Smith, Georgia Tech ($5,200)

Smith has always put up strong rebound and assist numbers, but his recent scoring surge (31 points in the last two games) has him as a great GPP target. Smith has shot well and taken more shots because of that. If Tech keeps giving him the green light, Smith has some of the best upside in this price range. The peripherals give him a solid floor. The scoring surge shows him as underpriced right now.

Also consider: Jalen Pickett, Penn State ($9,900); Marcus Sasser, Houston ($7,800); Seth Lundy, Penn State ($7,400); Caleb Mills, Florida State ($7,100); Dajuan Harris, Kansas ($6,500); Tramon Mark, Houston ($5,900); Sir'Jabari Rice, Texas ($5,400); Jaden Bradley, Alabama ($4,400)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Armando Bacot, North Carolina ($10,100)

Bacot returned from an ankle injury on Saturday and it looked fine. He posted yet another double-double in just 25 minutes in the big win over Louisville. If Boston College manages to hang around, we should see the big games from Bacot that we have become accustomed to. That injury in the first minutes against Virginia looked bad. Saturday's performance should alleviate any concerns we have with going back to the well.

Liam Robbins, Vanderbilt ($7,400)

Robbins is perpetually in foul trouble, so that makes him a little bit of a risk. However, He has put up huge numbers even in limited minutes because he is active on the glass, a very efficient shooter, and a very good rim protector. If Robbins can control the fouls, he has huge upside. That's a tall order against Alabama, but that upside is intoxicating.

Jordan Wright, Vanderbilt ($6,300)

Wright doesn't have a lot of upside, but he consistently scores in the 20s for DraftKings points. He's a strong value play that won't tank your lineup. Forward is tough today since it is loaded at the top and relatively weak in the middle and at the bottom. There are plenty of mines here that can destroy a good lineup, but Wright isn't one of them. Something can be said for that.

Osun Osunniyi, Iowa State ($4,300)

Robert Jones often plays more minutes, but Ossuniyi routinely does more with his minutes. He could carve out a larger role if he can stay out of foul trouble, but that has proven to be a tough ask in the rough-and-tumble Big 12(10). Due to that, his baseline isn't always safe but there are minutes open in the Cyclone frontcourt with Aljaz Kunc still out.

Also consider: Jalen Wilson, Kansas ($9,300); Kevin Cross, Tulane ($8,000); KJ Adams, Kansas ($6,900); Jaemyn Brakefield, Mississippi ($6,000); Myles Stute, Vanderbilt ($5,000); Uros Plavsic, Tennessee ($4,100); Cameron Corhen, Florida State ($3,900); Puff Johnson, North Carolina ($3,600)
