Cam Akers A Desperation Start In Week 16

Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers is a possible flex starter for teams in dire straits in Week 16. The 23-year-old is the only thing with a pulse in the Rams' offense. He led the team in rushing yards and receiving yards, with 35, last week. He has gained over 60 rushing yards in three of the last five games. With the Rams facing a tough Denver Broncos defense that stifles the pass, they might lean on the run. The Broncos' defense ranks No. 5 against the pass but just No. 14 against the run. But Akers has only accumulated more than 14 carries twice this season, so he still cannot be relied upon to pile up many rushing yards. He should maintain a large role in the passing game with Ben Skowronek being the latest Rams receiver to join the injured reserve.
