Mid-Week Fantasy Basketball Category Streamers for Week 10

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Thunder Dan Palyo looks at some mid-week waiver wire options for fantasy basketball leagues. These players may be free agents to target on waivers in Week 10.

The second half of Week 10 is a bit of a challenge to navigate. There are only two games today, but some solid streaming options in them with various injuries to key players. A loaded Friday slate tomorrow is then followed by a day off for Christmas Eve and then five Christmas Day games. A whole bunch of teams only play one more game this week, including Utah and Golden State who play on Thursday and Sunday respectively so you can target Utah today and GSW on Sunday.

Most leagues limit how many adds you can make each week in daily leagues. If your league only allows three moves per week, you need to be very efficient with your moves and grab players who will help you maximize your games played and help you win an extra category or two of counting stats.

The goal of this article each Thursday morning will be to help you plan out your roster moves for the remainder of the week. By this point of the week, you should start to get an idea of what categories you may need help with and where your weekly opponent is the strongest and weakest (in H2H formats). If you're playing roto, you don't have to gameplan quite as much, but you'll still want to maximize the stats your team can accumulate during the week. All the rostered percentages used in this article are from Yahoo. Let's see who can help us finish the week strong.

Weekly Schedule: Thursday to Sunday

Teams that play only one game (AVOID): Toronto, Sacramento, Utah, Portland, Orlando, Oklahoma City, Minnesota, Miami, Detroit, Houston, Indiana, LA Clippers, Golden State, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Charlotte, Cleveland, Chicago

Teams that play Thursday (TARGET): San Antonio, New Orleans, Utah, Washington

Teams that play Sunday (Xmas Day) (TARGET): Phoenix, Philly, NY Knicks, Milwaukee, Memphis, LA Lakers, Golden State, Denver, Dallas, Boston

Shallow League Streaming Options

Deni Avdija - SF/PF (32%)

We don't know Kristaps Porzingis's status for tonight's game yet, but he could miss yet another game with an illness and leave the door open for another big game for Deni. He has two double-doubles in his last three games and I'd snag him if he's available just in case he gets some major run tonight in a good matchup with Utah.

James Wiseman - C (20%)

The Warriors are off until Sunday, but Wiseman has our attention now after scoring 30 points in last night's blowout loss to Brooklyn. Yes, a ton of that production came in garbage time, but this is still a young, talented player who could see some extended minutes on nights when the Warriors mail it in (like last night).

Dennis Schroder - PG (23%)

The "German Rondo" has made this article quite a few times lately and is worth a look here as the Lakers get a good matchup with Charlotte tomorrow and then play Dallas on Xmas Day. He continues to score the ball well, but don't ask for much else besides a few threes and dimes.

Daniel Gafford - C (21%)

If Porzo sits out tonight, then Gafford should grab another start for Washington and he would be in an excellent spot against Utah, a team that has been hammered by bigs this year on the glass. Gafford is a stud when he gets minutes and can be an elite short-term asset in points, FG%, boards, and blocks.

Deep Leagues Streaming Options

Naji Marshall - SG/SF (7%)

The Pelicans will have to lean on some reserves tonight with Zion Williamson out and Zion's direct backup, Larry Nance Jr, could miss tonight's game, too. Marshall is coming off his worst game in weeks against the Bucks, but had been playing well and would likely see a big boost in minutes if Nance sat out, too.

Keita Bates-Diop - PF (6%)

With Keldon Johnson doubtful to play tonight against the Pelicans, we could see a lot more minutes from KBD and he's put up some useable stats lately. His final line usually isn't anything sexy, but he can contribute in multiple categories and his low-volume shooting is guaranteed not to hurt your percentages.

Immanuel Quickley - PG/SG (17%)

I had mentioned Quickley last week and sure enough, he DID fix that shot as he has 20+ points now in two straight games and 11 made threes! He drew the start for the Knicks last night as Quentin Grimes was out and he's likely going to continue to play a good bit whether he's starting or chucking up shots off the bench.

Coby White - PG/SG (4%)

Welcome back, Mr. White (any Breaking Bad fans out there?) Coby returns to the list this week as he continues to log significant minutes off the bench and give the Bulls some much-needed scoring from the guard position that Alex Caruso and Ayo Dosunmu do not.

Specialist Streaming Options

THREES

Duncan Robinson - SG/SF (5%)

Don't look now, but Dunc-Rob is actually getting some run and producing once again. He's nailed 11 triples in his last four games, reminding us that despite his lack of playing time this year, he is still one of the deadliest shooters in the league. The Heat play the Pacers tomorrow, which has been a good matchup for shooters recently.

STEALS

Victor Oladipo - SG/SF (26%)

I know the Heat only play once this week, but Kyle Lowry has been nursing an injury and Jimmy Butler continues to miss games, allowing VO to play some serious minutes (34 minutes in two straight games) and he's putting up some gawdy steals numbers of late with 10 swipes in his last three games.

BLOCKS

Zach Collins - PF/C (17%)

The return of Jakob Poeltl to the lineup has not killed Collins' production...yet. He's played 23 and 24 minutes off the bench the last two games for San Antonio and has been his usual productive self on a per-minute basis. He offers more than just blocks, but his 1.0 blocks per game in only 21 minutes is really solid, especially when blocks are so hard to find on the waiver wire.
