Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard (upper body) has been ruled out for 2-3 weeks. He will miss a fifth consecutive game Wednesday against Ottawa and we won't be seeing him until after the holiday break. The veteran has been a beast on the defensive end with 74 blocks and 24 games, and he has also chipped in offensively with one goal and seven assists. Savard averages over 22 minutes of ice time and filling his skates hasn't been easy. Everybody on the backline has started to log more minutes, with their workload also increasing due to Mike Matheson's (lower body) injury. He will miss a third consecutive game Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
