Columbus Blue Jackets winger Patrik Laine (ankle) has been activated from Injured Reserve and he looks set to rejoin the lineup Friday against Winnipeg. A sprained ankle has kept him out of the last seven games, but Laine could now make his comeback in a very special matchup. He recorded 250 points in 306 games for Winnipeg before moving over to Columbus. Friday will almost be like a new season opener for Laine because health issues have ruined his campaign so far. The Finnish sniper has been able to skate in just eight games, posting two goals and two assists. Fingers crossed that Laine can now stay healthy for a longer stretch so we can finally see the full potential of his one-two punch with Johnny Gaudreau.--Taavi Pailk
