Week 7 DraftKings NFL DFS Lineup Picks (2022): Break The Slate

Justin Herbert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Joe Nicely's DraftKings NFL DFS picks and lineup sleepers for Week 7 (2022). His top daily fantasy football lineups to target for DraftKings DFS contests.

Hello RotoBallers and welcome back to Break The Slate, our DraftKings NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 7! I appreciate you joining me in our season-long quest to find the best plays at each position for every DraftKings Main Slate.

After a Week 6 schedule that featured a Kansas City vs Buffalo matchup that loomed over the Main Slate, we can expect Week 7 action to be a bit more spread out. With popular DFS teams such as the Bills, Eagles, Rams, and Vikings on their bye weeks, this slate does feature some – if we're being totally honest – downright ugly matchups that figure to be offensive slogs. However, there are some bright spots for sharp DFS players this week and we'll dive into those situations in this all-new edition of Break The Slate.

These DraftKings lineup recommendations are based on matchups, projected DK points and ownership, overall upside/talent levels, and opportunity, as well as factors such as Vegas odds, home-field advantage, and more. There are quite a few great plays available on DK for Week 7. Also, be sure to also check out our weekly FanDuel DFS lineup picks and lots of other great NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win big! Good luck with your DraftKings DFS lineups - let's Break The Slate together!

DraftKings Quarterbacks - Week 7 DFS Picks

Justin Herbert - SEA @ LAC ($7,200)

Relative to his lofty standards, Justin Herbert has disappointed to this point in 2022, topping 25 DK points just once over L.A.'s first six. We can probably lay a lot of the blame on a rib injury suffered in Week 2 against Jacksonville, as well as some less-than-stellar game environments in the early part of the Chargers' schedule.

Thanks to his rather underwhelming output to this point, we can now grab Herbert – a player that still possesses an elite DFS ceiling & helms an offense that is playing at the fastest situational-neutral pace in the NFL - for $7.2k in what profiles as a true breakout spot in a home matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. While Seattle's offense has been a nice surprise this year, their defense has struggled mightily. The Seahawks are allowing the second-most yards per game in the NFL (427.2) with a defensive unit that stands just 26th in the league in Pass Defense DVOA.

Joe Burrow - ATL @ CIN ($6,900)

Tossing for 300 yards for the first time since the season opener, Joey B looked to have his groove back against the Saints last week. Cincy's overhauled offensive line has taken a little more time to gel than most expected, but despite those protection issues, Burrow has put together a rock-solid season to this point and comes in averaging 23.3 DK points per game.

The Bengals enter Week 7 as the winners of three of their last four, and it's not a coincidence that Burrow and the offense have also posted 27 or more points in each of those three wins. The LSU legend has every chance for continued success this week against an Atlanta squad that comes to town having allowed the most passing yards in the NFL this season (1,747). To make matters worse for the Falcons – and better for Burrow – their already-poor secondary is extremely banged up with starting cornerback Casey Hayward recently placed on IR.

DraftKings Running Backs - Week 7 DFS Picks

Josh Jacobs - HOU @ LV ($6,500)

One of the year’s most pleasant surprises, Las Vegas’ Josh Jacobs comes in off the Raiders’ bye week playing the best ball of his pro career on the final year of his rookie contract. Jacobs is averaging a massive 5.4 yards per carry and has amassed the third most rushing yards in the NFL (490) in just five games.

Though his DK price tag has finally crept into the $6k range on this slate, Jacobs should continue to roll this week against the Houston Texans, a unit that stands just 29th in the league in Rush Defense DVOA. Houston ranks bottom-five in the NFL in both yards per carry (5.02) and DK points (158.00) allowed to opposing RBs this season.

Kenneth Walker III - SEA @ LV ($5,800)

Getting his first career start in the absence of Rashaad Penny, Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III looked like a superstar in the making against Arizona in Week 6. The rookie was explosive and tough to tackle, ripping off three chunk plays of 15-plus yards and breaking 12 tackles against the Cards en route to 110 total yards and a score.

The 2021 Doak Walker Award winner out of Michigan St. was a true workhorse in Penny’s absence, handling 21 of 23 RB carries for the Seahawks, the highest team share in the NFL last week. The dynamic rookie now draws what can only be described as a dream matchup against a Los Angeles Chargers defensive front that has been absolutely gashed on the ground. L.A. ranks dead last in the NFL in both yards per carry (5.83) and DK points (178.60) allowed to the RB position this season.

DraftKings Wide Receivers - Week 7 DFS Picks

CeeDee Lamb - DET @ DAL ($6,800)

Dallas’ alpha receiver has done a respectable job of remaining productive with Cooper Rush at the helm of this ‘Boys offense. Garnering a massive 42.8% team Air Yard share (the fourth-highest percentage in the NFL), Lamb has managed to average 16.5 DK points per game over Dallas’ last five in spite of Rush’s deficiencies as a downfield passer. We should see those production numbers jump with Dak Prescott set to return for a Week 7 tilt against the Detroit Lions.

While the Lions might be willing to bite off kneecaps, they’ve not had any success in actually stopping anyone this year. Detroit comes off their bye week standing dead last in the league in both Total Defense and Pass Defense DVOA, with a PFF pass coverage grade (44.5) that’s the second-worst in the NFL.

There are some legitimate concerns about how Prescott will play in his return from a five-game layoff – as well as Lamb’s own hip issues – but this is nonetheless a smash spot for a Dallas offense that wants to play fast, but has been forced to play conservative in Prescott’s absence. They come in with the highest projected point total (28.0) on the Week 7 Main Slate and this matchup has very real shootout potential.

Chris Godwin - TB @ CAR ($6,300)

Tampa Bay's Chris Godwin is rarely the sexiest WR play on a slate, but he's often one of the most sensible. That's again the case for Da God in Week 7, as he comes in with a great matchup, a moderate price tag, and consistently-elite usage.

In case you haven't heard, the Bucs have yet to hit their stride offensively this season and it's easy to imagine frustrations only grew after a surprising loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Week 7 represents the mother of all "get right spots," as Godwin and the Bucs draw a divisional matchup against a lifeless Carolina Panthers organization that has already fired their head coach and reportedly has all their best players on the trading block.

Since battling through injuries over the first several weeks of the year, Godwin finally appears to be fully healthy, as he was on the field for a season-high 89% of Tampa's offensive snaps last week. He's now been targeted by Tom Brady 10 or more times in two of the Bucs' last three, racking up 215 yards on 19 catches over those contests.

DraftKings Tight Ends - Week 7 DFS Picks

Mark Andrews - CLE @ BAL ($7,400)

Mark Andrews and Travis Kelce stand in a category all to themselves as true separators at the TE position. Anytime one or both are on a slate they demand serious consideration thanks to their consistent and unrivaled positional ceilings. With neither in a truly standout matchup this week, I'll simply take the $600 savings with Andrews against Cleveland.

Robert Tonyan - GB @ WAS ($4,100)

With Randall Cobb joining a growing list of injured Green Bay pass catchers in Week 6, it is all hands on deck for this skidding Packers' passing attack. Robert Tonyan was basically the only highlight for the Pack in last week's embarrassing loss to the Jets, as he logged season highs in targets (12), catches (10), and yards (90). As Aaron Rodgers' receiving options continue to shrink, Tonyan's role in this offense should continue to grow.
