Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was a limited participant in practice this week because of a quad injury. After missing last week’s 24-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the third-year receiver will play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Pittman’s return couldn’t come at a better time for the Colts. Last week they scored zero points against a poor Jacksonville defense. Furthermore, Matt Ryan had only 195 passing yards.
While Pittman will play against the Chiefs, should fantasy players be concerned about his quad injury?

Is Michael Pittman Jr. Healthy or Injured?
The star receiver missed last week’s game against the Jaguars with the quad injury. However, his injury was never considered a serious issue.
After missing last week’s game, Pittman is back this week and “ready to go,” according to head coach Frank Reich.
Will Michael Pittman Jr. Play in Week 3?
Pittman will play this week against the Chiefs, and fantasy players should be excited. In Week 1, the former USC star caught nine of his 13 targets for 121 yards and a touchdown. Furthermore, Ryan has found success targeting Pittman this year.
Ryan has completed 69.2% of his pass attempts when targeting Pittman this season. Furthermore, the third-year receiver has Ryan’s only touchdown on the year. Meanwhile, the veteran quarterback has completed 60% of his passes and thrown four interceptions when targeting any other receiver besides Pittman.
While he missed last week’s game with a quad injury, fantasy players should feel confident starting Pittman on Sunday. The Chiefs have given up 32.6 half-point PPR fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, the ninth-most in the NFL.
Furthermore, Kansas City gave up eight receptions on 10 targets for 113 receiving yards and a touchdown to Mike Williams last week. The Los Angeles Chargers veteran receiver was the WR8 last week in half-point PPR scoring. In Week 1, the Chiefs surrendered 12.3 fantasy points to Marquise Brown on only six targets.
The matchup against the Chiefs should be a high-scoring contest, providing Pittman with plenty of opportunities to score fantasy points. He is a top-10 option this week and has the potential to finish as a top-three wide receiver.
