2025 NFL Trade Rumors: Ideal Landing Spots For DK Metcalf, Cooper Kupp, And More

2025 NFL Trade Rumors: Ideal Landing Spots For Cooper Kupp, DK Metcalf, and More

The 2025 NFL offseason is underway, and the trade rumor mill is turning. Several big-name players could get moved over the next few weeks.

While many trade rumors are nonsense, sometimes a blockbuster deal comes from a trade rumor.

Let’s look at the ideal landing spot for nine of the biggest trade rumors in the NFL.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Ideal Landing Spot for D'Andre Swift

Some believe the Chicago Bears will move on from Swift this offseason. New head coach Ben Johnson was with the Detroit Lions when they traded the veteran running back to the Philadelphia Eagles. Meanwhile, the Bears have been a popular landing spot for Ashton Jeanty in mock drafts.

Furthermore, Chicago can save $6.7 million in salary cap space by trading Swift this offseason. The ideal landing spot for the veteran running back is the Kansas City Chiefs. Isiah Pacheco has struggled to stay healthy in his career. Meanwhile, the team can’t rely on Kareem Hunt again next season.

Ideal Landing Spot for DK Metcalf

Last year, Jaxon Smith-Njigba had the first top-12 fantasy football wide receiver finish of his career. His breakout season has led some to wonder if the Seattle Seahawks will trade Metcalf this offseason. The star wide receiver is entering the final year of his contract, counting for nearly $32 million against the salary cap.

While the Seahawks released Tyler Lockett on Wednesday, that won’t keep them from trading Metcalf. Reportedly, the veteran wide receiver asked for a trade earlier this week and will get dealt. Getting traded to the Carolina Panthers to become Bryce Young’s No. 1 wide receiver is a solid landing spot for Metcalf.

Ideal Landing Spot for Cooper Kupp

Unfortunately, Kupp’s time with the Los Angeles Rams is over. The veteran wide receiver announced on social media last month that the team was moving on this offseason. While Kupp isn’t the superstar he once was, the veteran is far from washed and has gas left in the tank.

Ideally, the Rams change their mind and keep Kupp in Los Angeles with Matthew Stafford. However, another appealing landing spot for him is the New England Patriots. Drake Maye needs a go-to wide receiver that can make plays on third downs.

Ideal Landing Spot for Jonathan Allen

Allen has been one of the longest-tenured players in Washington. The star defensive lineman has been part of two name changes during his time with the franchise. Unfortunately, he had his worst year as a pro since his rookie season in 2024, totaling only 19 tackles in eight games because of injury.

More importantly, the Washington Commanders drafted a star in Jer’Zhan Newton last year, making Allen expendable. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the team has had trade talks about the veteran. The Cincinnati Bengals would be an excellent landing spot for Allen after they released Sheldon Rankings earlier this offseason.

Ideal Landing Spot for Myles Garrett

The biggest name on the trade market is Garrett. While the Cleveland Browns have sworn up and down that they will not trade the superstar pass rusher, Garrett’s camp has refused to negotiate a contract extension, reiterating their trade request. The good news is that the Browns will have no shortage of trade partners.

Cleveland will likely want to deal him to an NFC team, keeping Garrett out of their conference. The Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions are the four most likely landing spots for the superstar. However, no one should be surprised if Howie Roseman pulls off a blockbuster deal for Garrett.

Ideal Landing Spot for Jaire Alexander

Unfortunately, injuries have severely impacted Alexander over the past few years. The veteran was once considered the top cornerback in the NFL. However, he has played only 14 games over the past two years because of injuries. Furthermore, Alexander has missed half of the games over the past four seasons.

Yet, he is only 28 years old and plays at a high level when healthy. While the Green Bay Packers haven’t closed the door on the veteran cornerback returning in 2024, they have had trade talks surrounding Alexander. The ideal landing spot for him is the Jacksonville Jaguars. They need significant help in the secondary.
